Nice! I have a twin turbo Granada with that engine, recently made 473hp at the crank on 0.8-1.5 bar of boost (rising boost curve) and reground camshaft but ever since I crossed 400hp, I'm fighting coolant being puked out through the pressure cap after every pull. Checked and tested everything I could, 99% it is NOT headgasket and/or cracked block or head (co2 tested, multiple times). Possibly some hot spots in the engine, but not sure... last thing left for me is to check the running engine with thermal camera (searching possible hot spots), maybe trying to retorque the heads.. before taking it apart and looking for.... who knows what :)

I would say that the heads are lifting. Thats classic on the Cologne. Impossible to make it work without O-rings

@@Skogenracing fel-pro gaskets, 12.9 head bolts, torqued to 115Nm, without retorquing after heat cycle, any comments/suggestions on that? What's Your experience, did you often lifted heads on boost levels lower than 1.5, despite all the mods I listed above? What would You do if You were in my place? Lowering boost is not an option ;) Custom MLS headgasket? Fire rings around the bore (did You mean that by saying o-rings)?

@@Skogenracing interesting is that I now experience this problem even on lower boost levels ~300-350 crank hp, which previously all worked fine for a few years, with a stock camshaft and max 1bar of boost around redline rpm

@@madmodsgarage1179 You need to O-ring the block or the heads (fire rings sort or). A 2.9 for example always lifts the head over 1.2-1.3bar on stock engine, 1bar worked fine but everytime we increased boost the heads were lifting. Smaller turbos will also be an issue, more pressure on the engine in the wrong place.

@@Skogenracing thanks for all the info and advice, will continue some minor research and probably end up doing exactly that. Did You oring heads or the block? Is there some build thread and/or pics that I could take a look at before doing the work? Thanks in advance!
