What is out of gear acceleration and ingear acceleration?

you are in 5th gear and now you floor the accelerator, the result is the in-gear acceleration, however say you are in 5th gear and you downshift to 3rd or 2nd gear and then you floor the accelerator, this results in out-gear acceleration. Petrol engines lack in-gear acceleration as the power comes at higher rpms. Turbo petrol engines have considerably more in-gear acceleration as the power comes at lower rpm compared to N/A Petrol engines but the diesel engines are unmatched when it comes to in-gear acceleration as the power output is almost instantaneous at lower rpms. On the flip side Petrol cars have great out-gear acceleration and that is why you often need to downshift for a quick overtake with a petrol engine. I drove the Slavia 1.5L manual, under 2000rpm its calm and super silent but the moment you hit the gas, within 1-1.5seconds it pulls so strong that you can feel the G-Force once you cross 2000rpm and to be honest you don't have to work the gearbox as much as the Honda city petrol due to this. Can't comment on the 1L though but I hear it's good too.

@@cbegamingorg loosu kudhi, 1 litre is 3 cylinders, turbocharged petrol engine producing 115 ps and 178nm of torque and 1.5 litre is 4 cylinders, turbocharged evo motor which is imported and btw produces 147 ps and 250nm torque.

@@S3VAGE7 You should understand one thing, the Germans potential what you are seeing on high-end cars are not due to 3 cyl design. Hope you know the difference between 3/4cly design. Where ever in the world, 3cyl will make enough noise due to vibration compare to 4 cyl. May be, we couldn't make it that easy on a new car, but day by day we can feel that more. Here mostly the trubo would be an work around for the 3 cyl design. Hope this helps.!
