Skoda Kodiaq: Travel Assist (traffic jam assist, highway, adaptive cruise control acc, lane assist)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Skoda Kodiaq can be equipped with Travel Assist which includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). This uses images from the camera on the windscreen as well as data from the navigation system and, if desired, reacts in good time to speed limits or corners. In combination with a DSG, the ACC’s Stop & Go function can automatically bring the vehicle to a standstill and have it pull away again automatically within up to three seconds. The newest version of Travel Assist for Škoda Kodiaq also includes a more precise version of Traffic Sign Recognition (thanks to an improved camera), Adaptive Lane Assist (now able to identify road works and all road markings), Traffic Jam Assist and Emergency Assist. The enhanced version of Travel Assist also includes Side Assist with Rear Traffic Alert and Park Assist. Using Hands-on Detect, this system also checks whether the driver is touching the steering wheel every 15 seconds or whether they may no longer have control due to a potential medical emergency. In this case, Emergency Assist activates the hazard lights and brings the car to a stop in its current lane. See how Travel Assist in Skoda Kodiaq performs semi-autonomous driving in a traffic jam and on a highway.

Thanks for the video! Have you experienced that steering wheel sometimes doesnt recognize touch input? I have 2021 Octavia and sometimes I have to steer just a little bit to the left or right in order to "ensure" vehicle that driver is awake and drives. This only in rara cases when hand touch doesnt work. Not sure if this is intentional behaviour or just an occasional failure of the steering wheel capacitive touct function.

2 Questions: 7:07 Did you brake by yourself before the truck or the system did? Can you bump up the speed limit , say 10kmh to match the real speed? I had 2 skodas, the clocks were 5% under.

    1. No, as you could see, the ACC was still active, I did not use brake pedal. 2. Unfortunately not :(

As you could see on this movie, Travel Assist steers for the driver. The same system has the newest version of Superb.

1:35 touch sensors are only located on the right and left side of the steering wheel ? I've tried a new 2022 bmw sportstourer and it was no sensors on the lowest part of the steering wheel.

Not only on the right/left side, but it is possible that it will not detect human hand on the bottom part.

Hi there, I am looking at purchasing a new RS 23.5 but the dealer did not mention anything about the car recognising speed limits. Is that something it picks up from the road signs, changes in settings or an inclusion of older models.

I do not know how packages work in your country, but if you took travel assist high, you should have all options including road signs recognition.

How can you trust a plane in flight? It's all about adaptation. We humans have evolved to learn and adapt, and the technology and safety measures that make modern air travel possible have been developed through continuous improvements and learning from past mistakes.

@@bastooopanooo2311I know what you mean but hardly a good comparison once you take off in a plane there’s a lot less vehicles up in the air and a planes auto pilot is linked to radar and distances planes fly to another is way more than50 to 80 metres even on takeoff air traffic control will leave min of 500m after the plane in front has left the ground before allowing the next plane to take off and when landing they are normally approx 10k apart But I think I might use it but maybe not in the city

Yes, the system detects cars not only in front of it on the same lane, but also on others lanes. Remember how blind spot monitoring system works :)

Hi again, sorry for the really late response, I have another question: I had the occasion to try both the Kodiaq and the Golf 8 and they were both on travel assist. However it seems that the Kodiaq as a different graphic and seems a lot more laggy than the golf in the car visualisation. Plus on the kodiaq the cars on the other lanes sometimes are like missing. Is this normal? Is there a way to get the golf like graphic? Thank you very much in advice🙏🏻
