Made a lot of progress. Nice to see the brown one becoming original again.

It was a daily car for 15 years and has a massive history file of every job, only 2 owners before me.

@@Mickhanic-garage love those cars. My mum drives daily in a 105 s from 1987. Definitely not the prettiest but a true survivor. The car has been a daily driver for its entire life. All owners before her kept it original. Even got the mono Blaupunkt radio in it. I do the maintenance for her. Only thing I’ve ever done is fitted rear seatbelts. Found them on a junkyard in the Czech Republic. Original Moravan of course.

"Why are they 11?" - Because they are M7... Unusual size but present on several places in these cars. Keep up the videos!

Hi I used to have a skoda when you used to get laughed at with the jokes long ago but now they have street cred now but I liked it I must say my clutch went on it and I mended it myself and it was one of the easiest cars I had worked on I had the car for a while never had much more trouble with it i did fancy the rapid at the time

They are so easy to work on, designed to be worked on unlike modern cars

I always hated the old rear suspension system , hard to work with it and do regular service . Also this system was the reasons of all of the car critics especially in the UK . Good news I'm up to date with what your are doing :) bad news need to go back to work :(

It was a cheap way to built it and it worked for most people, yes it got criticism but then a lot of other cars here had the same layout in the 60s.. most problems they were known for here was headgaskets and the unfair ficus on being unreliable which from what I know they were no worse then anything else back then, maybe a bit from the mid 90s onward as western cars progressed quicker

I stuck around for that long 😆 In your head these jobs seem quite simple, but when you get down to do them, man they are hard work! I've found it easier in the past to put the gearbox and swing axles in separately, (though I know that the factory installed them as a complete unit), then add the springs using a pair of spring compressors, and shocks in last. That said, you've got it mostly done, and I would have taken just as long. From memory, the 120 springs are much shorter than the 130, and the shocks slightly shorter. I did get sold a pair of 120 shock once for my Rapid, and the rear wheels would keep leaving the road every time I went over a bump! The new mic is working well, but hopefully you will sort out your camera soon.

Hi Cheers for hanging about Gordon.. was a long job, longer than it should have been! I have since been told the 130 springs on a 120 axle isnt right, same as the shocks as you mentioned. Having thought about it that makes sense.. Do you remember if you changed to the top spring seats or cups when you fitted the 130?

@@Mickhanic-garage The spring seats and cups remained the same, so it should be just a case of using the springs and shocks of your green car? It's quicker second time, as they say 😀 Good luck with getting it sorted👍🏻

its like trying to put a pair of tights on an octopus lol trying to put the shims on and hold the drive blocks in place is just as difficult if you were to put the old drive shafts in separate.
