Kyle Leung I agree. I bought one and it lasted me 2 years until I lost it but it was super accurate and amazingly a great beater watch!

I agree. SKMEI is the good choice for chinese brand watch (compared to other chinese ones). For fair comparison, CASIO should be compared to SKMEI 1382, which has same form factor but has more features such as compass, etc., and in different / closer price range of course. The downside of most SKMEIs (digital version) is that their plastic window are not scratch resistance.

Ive had a Skemei for 3years now it has analog and Digital time but the analog stopped working after I accidentally dropped it ince but the Digital still works and I haven't needed a battery change yet.

I got the black 1335 for the metal strap and only the strap, the other remaining parts i used them to experiment with modding (painting it and checking out colour filter combinations etc)

how to take the links out? that watch is to big for me... i cant find splints to press out...

Thank you for the review. I just purchased the SKMAE 1335 and so far do good. It woth stood sea water and sand and mumerous dips in the bath. Seems quite robust will it last?:lets see only time will tell.

Good review. I noticed that the wrist strap was crazy. I got mine cheaper than yours. Just need to know how to set it up.

I randomly bought the AE1200 silver at Walmart recently because it was on clearance with no display stand or booklet for 10 bucks. I wouldn't have bought it otherwise, not sure about the square shape and the prominent World Time features. But it's a nice watch even for the suggested retail price. I adjusted the silver band it feels good. Plus it has a full countdown timer, 5 alarms and 24-hr stopwatch besides all the time-zones. and can mute the beeps. The watch shape still feels too large for me, but it may grow on me. It's worth the price of admission for a different watch!

Got two Casio versions and the black Skmei. It's great, just ordered a military green version of the Skmei.

Really have both, love the back Light on the skmei more

How’s the quality of strap ?

Does this watch have automatic date ? That is, it knows which months are 30 days, or 31 days, and knows which is a leap year with 29 days in February rather than 28 ?

The font of the "5" is easier to read as well as the other numbers on the SKMEI which is kinda sad for the Casio. if it weren't for the stupid flashing look on the top left for every second that changes, the SKMEI definitely looks better.

That intro is so good!! ✨

What about scratches on the band after 2 years?

Try the 1382. Same design, but the round display shows the seconds, and if activated, the compass. (Yes it has got the compass). Its more loaded than casio ones, with pedometer, pace counter, world time instead the dual time. But after all I just buy it for the black bracelet for my casio royale.

Does anyone know the battery life? Does this have a lithium battery? Can we expect 10 years like in a Casio? Or more like... fucking... 2 years? Has anyone owned on of these for more than 2 years? The paint looks like it would scratch off the black band. And info on that?

I brought 4 of these, 1 like this and 3 resin strap models. to practice the bubble mod and colour change mods i saw in your other videos before I risk screwing up my Casio AE1200.They were 7 bucks each on Aliexpress. That included shipped to my door in the UK. The 3 resin strapped ones will be for my 3 grandsons to do the bubble mod on as project for their homeschooling they are doing during this lockdown. Bargain watch, great mod ideas, subscribing was easy decision. Love it (that's what she said)

Thanks for the comparative review. There is a newer model of the above Chinese brand: Skmei 1382 which I think has more useful functions (including compass and pedometer) than "Casio Royal" and is the best value for money if you are open to upcoming global brands like Skmei. Skmei is about 50%-75% the price of low end similar Casio models here in India, not really worth it, considering Casio has way more features, better components (steel backs and screws), and is backed by a warranty. I ordered a genuine Royale black with resin strap for equivalent of ~USD 20, and Digilog Gold (Skmei sells same watches to other brands too) with metal strap for ~USD 5 just for fun.

here on the third world 10dollars is food for 3 days. so a ten dollar skmei versus a 20 dollar casio is a big deal.

The SKMEI costs almost as much and has as many features as a F-91W... SKMEI has some decent products but this is not one of them. The only reason to get it is to cannibalize the band and put it on your black AE1200w.

Look...Skmei make a wide range of cheap and cheerful, robust watches. They are very good value for the peanuts you pay for them. I've got a range of their models...none have been faulty...all keep reasonable time and although the bands may be "rickety" they work and they are secure.

So it's a ripoff of a ripoff of the Seiko G757?

The crazy thing is I have the Casio version, and paid less than what they want for the SKMEI knockoff, so that doesn't make sense why someone would buy the SKMEI, does it??

I do see on ebay that you can get these for like 8 dollars. lol. But you can also get the Casios on sale for like 10! It sure doesn't make sense. Someone would really have to want this to get it. OR perhaps they are hoping that people think it's a Casio. :p

Sorry to say that, but at 02:57 I burst into laughter.

I just bought one for USD 8.40/-. Why? I wanted a cheap watch. Why I want a cheap watch? Because my watches dont last long. 2 reasons for that. My cats or should I call them terminators at home. So no matter which watch or mobile I buy they find a way to screw it up. Second reason is I don't use them carefully. Being an engineer my hands have to access insides of machines and mechanisms and so my watches really don't look cool after a few days. So basically something that will just tell me the time. That's it

In Australia skmei $23.99 the casio over $120, so skmei makes alot of sense for me.

I'm not sure about this 1353 model. But there are also 1299, which is significantly cheaper than original Casio, and 1373, which has more functions than Casio. Believe it or not, 1373 has compass and walkmeter. I'm not sure if 200$ G-Shocks have that.

Yeah i gotta hate skmei ripping of the originals, that includes another known brand name, DIGITEC, the only none knockoff chinese brand i see is called NAVIFORCE.

I got the SKMEI 1335 only for 7$

Skmei is well established brand and their watches are very durable and comes with warranty, I've used quite few of them and till now to this date they are working absolutely fine, din't even need a battery change even after 4 years. Skmei watches are cheap and very reliable even if they are ripoff of some casio watches so what, who cares as long as they giving good quality and reliability, unlike cassio who charge ridiculously high prices on their watches that don't make any sense. The manufacturing cost of Casio watches are only 10% of their retail price. I still have lot of cassio watches some of them got dead after using couple of years and then i've stopped purchasing them bcoz they don't offer any value for money.Cassio is nothing but overhyped brand.

I have their Casio g shock 5600 rip off. It’s ok for $5 but it does lose time. More than it should for a digital watch. Not too surprised for $5

My cheap but genuine Casio vintages don't keep great time - they are off by a second in a day, which I guess is fair because their specs say so clearly. G-Shocks are generally +- 15 secs a month, but I find them far more accurate than that in real life.

I dont care for the "world time" feature. I find the day display more useful. The casio looks way better in that silver finish though.

I was spitting at my phone and hitting it with my shoe. Supa Ka-Ka lol😉 Gotta love SKMEI for their blatant spanking.
