Skip Bayless RESPONDS Back To Dak Prescott & Social Media

Спорт

Yesterday on FS1's Undisputed, Skip Bayless made some insensitive remarks regarding depression as Cowboy's quarterback Dak Prescott revealed that he was battling the disease earlier this past year. After the show, many on social media reacted calling for the head of Skip Bayless at Fox.

Agree that Dak is courageous & him coming out undoubtedly helped others. But Bayless’ job is to generate controversy because ESPiN (Lol) doesn’t talk about how the games are played, just noise & snowflake issues. Most of us turned it off years ago anyway & anyone who takes ESPiN seriously is making a mistake. It’s owned by Disney who’s trying to change the subject off social justice & other issues that they use for ratings before their own dark past is revealed.

@GSP hunter Depression because of isolation due to a pandemic is completely different from clinical depression. Skip acknowledged that his remarks were based on the presumption that Dak's depression was because of the pandemic. It has now become clear that his depression stemmed from his brother's suicide. Skip's comments were insensitive because depression in all forms is real, but you cannot assume that he understood the scope of his mental anguish when he had no idea what he was going through. Unless Dak was diagnosed with depression, it is NOT clinical. Having feelings of depression or distress during taxing mental and emotional times in your life isn't the same. I believe Skip understood that.

@@shanelljones1091 that depression because of isolation probably caused the Dak's brother to kill himself (even no one can know for sure). He certainly had dark feelings before as Dak pointed out but being alone during the pandemic made it worse for him, for Dak and a lot of people we don't know about. Skip didn't really listen (because he had his opinion and didn't think it was severe) but he is no doctor and he certainly don't decide that a "mild depression" can become severe or not. That's for Dak doctor to decide. If it was stage one cancer, he wouldn't tell him to "man up and shut up" (that basically what he said), just because he is the "leader" of a team but to get medical help before it get worse.

@GSP hunter yea but dont you think there might be some sort of corporate agenda behind all these mega millionaires and billionaires coming out talking about being depressed all of a sudden? Seems like they are being rolled out by handlers/donors/sponsors to socially engineer their followers or more suggestible people into diagnosing themselves as depressed too. This ensures at least another generation of people hooked on antidepressants/antipsychotics/psychotropics...and a large percentage of which do not match the brain chemistry to benefit these types of drugs. We already have massive over prescribing and lazy misdiagnosing (sponsored by big pharma) as is. Now we gotta hear every hundred millionaire and billionaire from michelle obama to oprah tell us that even when you live a life of extreme privilege with everything at your fingertips, its still normal to feel opressed and depressed. Its an agenda to MAKE people depressed. To pass it on like an airborn disease into the psyche of others. Dak prolly doesnt even know hes being used in it. Prolly just got asked to make a statement on mental illness in the covid era not knowing it was part of a larger agenda.

There is no reason for him to apologize or for any of these people to apologize for their opinions I believe the sensitiveness that is rampant in today's society is absolutely ridiculous. From Drew Brees apologizing for his stance regarding American flag to this is ridiculous. We all know how absolutely brave it was for Prescott to come forward just as we know how ridiculous Bayless stance is. Depression is perhaps the worst of all illnesses.

I’m definitely not defending Skip but people are twisting up what he said.. The man said he doesn’t believe that someone like a QB should come out publicly with that an that was his argument he didn’t say anything like depression is bogus or a sign of weakness and didn’t call him any bad names or nothing.. it was skip being skip and saying that Dak should of kept out of the public he didn’t say he should of kept it to himself and bottle up an deal with.. big difference he said that he should seek help from a professional and even talk to a close friend or family or teammate.. I get what Skip is saying bc now opposing team player can try to use that to get inside Daks Head during game time.. do I agree with skip?? No bc I believe this subject matter shouldn’t even been up for debate and I blame Fox for that for them to even suggest these 2 bring this up bc everyone expects Skip to say something stupid bc of his tv personality.. Fox next time don’t debate a subject like this it’s sick

Skip should go from Bayless to Payless...... His comments about Dak didn’t just hit nerves, Skip ANGERED many and its comments like Skip’s, whether he did for show or not, that scare people who are dealing with Mental Disorders, into not talking about their struggles..... Shame on you Skip Bayless... I back Dak and applaud him 5,000% for speaking out about his struggles with depression.... It’s nothing to be ashamed about and knowing there is help, there should be more Dak Prescott’s who are open and honest about their struggles and less of Skip Bayless....

This is tough. Everything skip said is right tho. He will hear about it from his peers in the sport. Cruel game..folks will say and do anything to get an edge... Perception is everything..skip didn't say anything that isnt true...harsh but true. That said, they should've had way more wherewithal and left that topic alone. The day it was, the social climate we are in, etc...just a dumb decision to talk about it. If u bring that topic up, anything besides compassion will be deemed cruel. Skip should know better...

He wasn't mocking dak for his brother dying, he wasn't calling him weak for having clinical depression, dak said he got depressed because of the pandemic.... To which skip said... You need to man up. You're a leader. As leader you're not allowed to be sad cause it's cold outside and you wanted to go for a run. You go find your damn winter jacket and you run. I battle clinical depression everyday. Listen even great leaders aren't perfect. It doesn't make you less of a man to admit your struggling with an issue. If anything it makes you human. No one is exempt from problems in life. If Dak is struggling with depression then he needs to seek immediate help. If it is affecting his game as a quarterback then he needs to step down. Until he is fully recovered. That's my take on the situation..
