I think the end signifies him saying good bye to grace and really moving on with his life and giving it some closure. I would also say Alex has the saddest ending considering his character gets no closure and he continues to repeat his self destructive behavior.

Rich saying bye to Grace and sort of skins as well as they were the last generation, cos the next season was looking at previous characters from gens 1 and 2. That bit breaks my heart

This season wasn’t my favorite but the finale was truly the best one out of all. I never cried so hard from a finale :( when Rich said goodbye, I lost it right there

I agree. There was something about the last season's cast that just drew me in and wouldn't let me go. Rich and Grace were so amazing; I LOVE their story! And the finale's song, "Don't Go" is one of the best songs I've EVER heard!

Yeah, same here! :D Personally, I really liked the 2nd Generation. It was the signature of Skins and whenever someone says "Skins", most of the people think of the 2nd Generation, but I just really felt like I liked the 3rd one a bit more... (Probably, cause I have a crush on Franky, plus I really liked her relationship with Nick. And who would forget the beautiful love story of the "Metalhead" Rich and the "Ballerina" Grace? Sure, it doesn't beat "Naomily", but it's still great!) :) And I like how Alo, Mini and Rich actually grew up... I love the "We did it!" conversation that Alo and Rich had in this episode... Plus ALO & MINI HAVE A FUCKING BABY! :D But who knows? Maybe I need to rewatch the 2nd Generation... See if I'll change my mind... :D But still, this finale is and will definetely remain the best! A true happy end! :D

The first scene was Tony waking up and staring up at us from his bed, silently saying hello to us without moving his lips. The last scene is Rich looking up at us saying bye. Like how Tony greeted us on behalf of the whole cast of his generation as well as subsequent generations as well as how he invited us into their Wild World, Rich is saying bye on behalf of his generation and the generations before him. He is saying bye to us who are leaving their Wild World and thanking us for being there with them.

Man , this season had the best finale

Sad seeing Nick and Matty say their final goodbyes.

They called their kid grace :')

I absolutely love the character Rich and his episode this series. So heartbreaking and his "goodbye" to Grace and to us as an audience was perfect.

I have to say I wasn't a fan at all of 3rd generation when I first started watching it. I tried and tried to watch each episode but I couldn't, it wasn't at all interesting to me at first. I felt like the characters were so awkward and unrelatable to me. But then one day I took up watching it mid-season in season 5 (3rd time trying) & for some reason I actually didnt mind it as much. The 3rd generation definitely didn't have a great start but ended very well. My heart broke for Rich in the ending. He was probably my fav.

Completely agree. I feel you have to take a break from the 2nd generation and wait for the 3rd because you can't compare them. In my opinion they both have their weaknesses and positives but there both different in 2 good ways. You don't get the same feeling if you dive straight into the 3rd from the 2nd!

OMG, SAME!! I think the season that i've tried so hard to watch is season 5. Like really, i tried to watch it even for like once a month, i had no feeling abt the characters in it just like the other 2 generations before. Unlike the 3rd generation, i watched the other 2 generations for like hours and hours straight. But, when i watched the last 3 episodes in season 5, i feel like 'oh, this wasn't that bad'. And i think gotta move to the season 6.

BEST FUCKING FINALE!

That goodbye at the end gave me some closure and also gave me a lot of tears from the crying I was doing. I loved the ending of this season.

Always loved that final "Bye" from Rich as he is saying farewell to the viewer, but it can also be a farewell to Grace. Simply beautiful.

I couldn't have cared less for Frankie by the end of it tbh. She pissed me off so much.

I was a major fan of the first 2 generations, and coming into this one, i felt a little skeptical and felt it was not as good. And holy shit i have never been so wrong before. This ended up being my favorite generation out of all of them, and watching this scene made me really depressed because it felt like i was part of their world, and it felt like i was about to lose a couple of best friends.

I never cry than i see that moment than Franky meets her mother it feel like i gonna cry hours after such touching moment in the series this generation ending i`m thinking is the most saddest and touching in the whole three Skins generations.

Hi, after 13 years, I think it's just heart-warming.

i recently started watching skins a few months ago and i cried my eyes out during this scene.

Generation 3 had the best ending in my opinion.

when I started seeing this three generation did not believe that I would like, but when I began to understand it could not stop mourn, helped me both as a person and in life, certainly the best finish I could see of skins and one of the best seasons if not the best, life is very fragile fragile friends and we should live, stop running and start living, peace and love and hate.

I never cryed so much in my life and this is like my 5th time rewatching skins

am I the only one who yelled Bye after Rich did?? Balling my eyes out here... BYE!

This Scene was a perfect end, loved this cast.

this wasn’t the best generation for me but this was the best ending it hits different

To be honest, the one that got me the most was when Franky found her mom. She's was such a fucked up little girl. Like. She just needed that love from her mother, and the fact that she found her mom makes me cry. And then it pans over to Mini getting that one moment, of sheer pain, but then... a baby. And Alo's face, and the way Rich just seems so... content with life. Because he knows that shit will be okay. And then the Levan hug, Liv support... everything. "Everything is so beautiful."

Rich really made this scene 100x's more emotional, it was like he was "bye" to Grace's soul...and us of course.

Loved Mini and Alo together so much. Glad they got their happy ending. Rich is my baby and that BYE at the end while heartbreaking was actually the perfect way to say goodbye Grace. I wasn't a fan of Liv's in season 5 but grew to really like her in season 6 and I am glad her lump was actually a figment of her imagination and she wasn't really sick. Matty I could always take or leave tbh so I didn't really care that he came back. Franky was unbearable for most of season 6 so I'm not even going to start on how much I disliked her through most of the season. But I was proud of Liv for being the only one to call her out on her shit. I felt bad for Nick tbh because she used him so badly and he seemed to really love her. Lastly I missed Grace so much in this season. I know she made a few appearances but it wasn't the same :(

Watching this in 2021, god I miss this.

Probably the best finale in the Skins series with actual closure and conclusion to some great character journeys. Inspite of falling ratings, flaws, altered character dynamics, wasted potential(Matty having no solo episodes), missed opportunities and this being the last generation ever to grace the halls of Roundview Six Form College, I hope this generation will get the respect it truly deserved. Rest In Peace Skins. This show was one of a kind.

I think Gen1 had closure too. I mean Series 7 revealed that Sid did actually found Cassie and that they travelled for months until the broke up again. I think a REAL Happy End for them both would ridiculous tbh lmao I mean he loved Michelle for like 1and a half Series until he realized he wants Cassie? Alright. I still love them though and the others got closure too

I love the Nick and MAtty hug. I love how Franky breaks down after seeing her mom. I love the look Alo give Mini with that small smile. This is the best ending any show could ever have. Skins FTW

I watched the last episode last night, this episode. And I feel such a connection to the characters that when it was done I genuinely cried my eyes out. Wish they’d do another generation. The music, the acting, everything is brilliant. I feel depressed now :/

That episode where rich is hunting down grace and looking for her, and it concluding with her dad sitting lonely and heartboken on his stair stps calmly but sadly saying "actually she died yesterday afternoon" and then breaking down crying infront of rich. That episode's gotta be my favorite, for the determination and love that rich carried with him and for the tremendous acting at the end with the guy who plays grace's dad. Phenomenal

I cried so much during this season finale. I watched all six seasons and this was my favorite ending to a generation. So emotional, breathtaking. Just beautiful. Never have I ever been so moved by a TV series.

I REALLY wished they did a follow-up with gen 3 in season 7, I want to know how Mini and Alo are with the baby, but knowing how depressing everyone's story was in season 7, they would make something bad happen between them. Still something is better than nothing..
