Way before my time! Nothing wrong with OI! That's how we use to call each other. Then again what do I know there were no rules, race, some people had their thoughts on the subject, but nothing in stone. The one thing was about fighting for the working man, some Anarchist, some all about who gives a F*&^K. Rudies, and Skins, and Punks. This was the first music that I know was around back in 77. I was young then, never saw Nazi boneheads until late 80's, but again that's in Philly. There are old school, older then me, that can give you a history lesson. I just had fun F IT! @marcus brown There's some truth in that but it's not the whole story. Roddy Moreno, one of the main UK "voices" of Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice (SHARP) was in an Oi band called The Oppressed. He had also been an original skin in the late 1960s (albeit a young one of around 12/13 years of age).

I don't know what I am class-wise. My father was an office worker and my mother worked in a factory. I've worked in jobs ranging from labourer to drug and alcohol counsellor. I have a social work diploma but have never been a social worker. I guess I'm loosely a "skinhead" (though I prefer the term rude boy) as I have a shaved head and wear some items of skinhead clothing. Have loved ska and reggae since 1980 when I was 14.

Lots of kids who parents aren't dirt poor are ashamed, and go out trying to prove that they don't need anyone/thing. Once they realize they can, they are too old to do anything. They both basically refer to early reggae from the 1968-72 era (before reggae evolved into the slower, heavier sound known as roots reggae).

@rudeboylikesviolence well I think even more nowadays they know what looking like a skinhead is going to make people think...whatever kind of skinhead you are, you will always look lilke the racist ones untill you start having other nationalities in your skinhead groups...which Ive yet to see....not I did go to a small concert in san diego years ago from a well known skinhead type of music and the crowd were almost all skins, and almost the whole band were all black, and there wasn't any trouble

Johnny3968 l think the problem is that boneheads completely ruined the original skinhead scene with their shit.Reds did the same later,SHARP tried to returned the subculture back to its roots...sadly,all these divisions weakened the scene and original skinhead culture mostly lingers on in the memories now.Today most people exclusively connect an image of a dumb,media created nazi bonehead with skinhead culture as a whole.And that's really fucked up.
