do as i do matie....lay back, close your eyes and forget all the shite around you....listen to this concert at high volume...all your troubles and woes will fuck off to another place and you will be there skanking on stage with the greatest peoples band of thier time...try it..i do a lot when i get home from work...peace and tranquility from the best days of our lives my friend.

How cool is this... moonstomping on stage with the specials... it dosent get any better..... you can talk about 68/69 skinheads.....but for me it was all about the late 70's when i was growing up in inner london and having the freedom of movement ... i just know the kids of today would love to have an identity like we did back then.... and it as strong today........ ska was music you woke up to.... walked the streets with..... and danced to....

bunked off School to get tickets from local record shop, said strictly over 18's on ticket, we were 15, remember handing the ticket over and the woman did not even look at me, i was in and from that night night the Specials have always been my fave band and always will be, Tiffanys Gt Yarmouth 1980

No matter what anyone's says,this was the most diverse time and acceptance for me ,reggae, soul ,r an b breakdance and the original rap ...awesome

No one but no one beat the Specials grew up with their music stomped,,one good keep fit dance indeedy ,,,

West Berlin in the early 80s was the coolest place that ever existed... it was paradise

Brought a tear to my eyes what a great atmosphere that would have been from a different time.

I was there Tiffanies Gt Yarmouth 1980, best band ever!!!The only band that encouraged the crowd to get on stage note the lad on stage in the video thinking "im going to get kicked off soon" Terry Hall looks at him and just carry on singing,great moment. still got my 'Rat Race'gig badge,never forget that night as long as i live.

I went to a gig today that had the sax player from the speicals in it We got on stage when they was getting faster I skanked and skanked and skanked. Then everyone joined me on stage It was exactly like this Best moment ever :D Ska is really music, when you listen to it, you love everyone and hate and negative emotion just seems pointless Rude Boys.....Never stop stopping!!!!!!!!!!

Brilliant! I love the way the kids are so in to this. They look like they've just got out of school and have gone to a gig in the afternoon. And the band are actually happy about it! I can't imagine any group today that would happily bounce around with their fans like this...

Fucking superb! Got this on 4 track ep record live...will never get rid of it! Im reading "Ska"d for life" at the moment-yeh, cant put it down!!! Love how they "roughed it" at first,sleeping in borrowed van etc, great stuff!! Real band, real music!

Reminds me of my teenage years, yeah I'm getting old, aren't we all!

Saw them live in Los Angeles last May. One of the best gigs I'd ever been to and a dream come true. Rude Boy!

1979 , tubehouse ,i was an apprentice, my sisters and brother had a job and my dad had worked in the same factory since school, not many you can say that now, i was from a merseyside council estate ,totally working class, 1979 , i thought was great, you had all the new wave bands, some older punk bands, the scooter revival, i worked all week to go to the football,a good session before the match pay at the gate, go home , go out ,pub then club,get drunk ,the whole day less than a tenner ,

Terry Hall and the Jamaican tunes - awesome music. Never to be repeated.

I was there stomping for all me life up on the balcony. I thought the thing was gonna collapse. UNBLOODYBELIEVABLE!

went to see them again in manchester 2011 one of the best gigs i have ever been to for a 47 yr old i felt 16 at the time ,till i tried to get up in the morning .what a great night thanks lads

it brings a nostalgic tear to a grown mans eye while watching this. oh to be 16 and stomping around in my 18 hole docas and my crombie again. these were glory days, with music and fashion of true substance.

Saw them Tiffanys Great Yarmouth 1980....Best gig ever been to...Only Inspiral carpets came close...Got tickets for Specials May 6th @ Brixton.. Wahey!!

Simply brilliant...

Brilliant video which truly reflects both the atmosphere and their relationship with their fans. Danced on stage with them. Great fun, unlike NF(No Fun) who would argue with us but didn't have an argument. We all shouted "Black & White Unite & Fight !!"

ll credit to Terry and the lads for not get snotty and booting the lads off stage. A real special special moment a nd a joy to watch how much their music meant to their fans

Loved those days, you didn't sit and watch, you got involved. Take away the seats at gigs and football grounds. it's more fun jumping about to music and surges at football.

This brought a tear to my eyes I would have loved to have been there. I was only a 9 yr old girl at the time but yeah I bet it was a moment that they never forgot. Brilliant!

@jbgandhi2 Thank you for posting that comment. Yeah here in the U.S. the word skinhead has a COMPLETELY different meaning. I remember when I first heard The Specials using and embracing the term I was very confused and a bit shocked. Thankfully some of my British friends educated me on the original meaning of the term. What's the old saying? Two countries divided by a common language. Anyway hope all is well, Cheers!

These days as a "portly" 39 year old, I was at a function a couple of weeks back, the DJ (my brother in law) put on some of these classics and I was back up on the floor.... .... in the corner a couple of lads, who wouldn't even of been born when we were originally dancing to these, were taking the piss..... but I didn't give two fooks..... Got caught in the music and I was 14 again!!!!!!!!!

Love this Vid, Where are all the kids today what jumped up on the stage at the end???? I loved the Specials when I was a kid but I was too young to go and see em, I missed it by 10 years! I shouldve been 18 instead of 8!! Never mind. I refused to watch them in 2009 when they sadly reformed, it just wouldnt be the same.
