The issue I have with the eye cream one is that eye creams have been clinically tested so that it is safe so use around your eye. That’s why a regular moisturizer doesn’t claim to be safe around your eyes because it hasn’t been tested, and there could be ingredients that aren’t safe for that area. Plus a good eye cream usually has specific ingredients that are great for the eye area but not really useful for the rest of your face.

The Ordinary peel you showed works wonders for me. That being said it doesn’t burn my skin personally, it doesn’t even tingle. I think this is true for most products but there are exceptions. For example, I’ve been doing salicylic acid chemical peels myself at home for years, similar to what dermatologists use but at a lower percentage. They’re probably not something I would recommend a beginner to use at home, but yes they burn. They even have to be diluted with baking soda to neutralize, but have done wonders for my skin. The ordinary aha/bha peel is great IF you need it and use it correctly. So many people got chemical burns because of tik tok. @@emmalayla8373 honestly, I would not apply it around the eye, especially at night. I’ve found that some oils tend to get into people’s eyes because they don’t absorb as easily as lighter creams and serums. Also if the oil is heavy enough, it can put you at risk for acne/milia around your eyes. Think about it this way, if you were to have a bad reaction where on your face would you want it to happen? But most significantly, I wouldn’t want milia developing around the eye area. They’re hard to get rid of. Every dermatologist I have ever had has said eye cream is a must - especially if you are prescribed a retina. (It acts as a protective layer from those harsh chemicals - even if you're doing a great job avoiding your under eye while applying it can still irritate the area) They always suggest avoiding the expensive stuff and opting for something from the drug store.

Agree. Generally eye creams are not needed by younger people. But as you get into your older 20s, a preventative eye cream is a good idea. For those at a more advanced age, eye creams can help reduce wrinkles and fine lines. For post-menopausal women who don't produce as much sebum, the eye area can get dried out, and eye creams help. Tl; dr: this girl's opinion on eye cream is heavily influenced by her age. She's likely to change her mind as she gets older.

I totally use all my other serums and treatments on my eyes, I use all the other stuff I use all over, then I just top it off with an eye cream on my eyes because they're dryer. I also like to use it on my lips or any other dry area, but I also use any thicker cream I get instead whenever I have them, there's rarely any difference in eye creams than other thick moisturizers. There are some eye creams that are depuffing or other eye targeting things of course. I also use all my skincare on my neck and the backs of my hands! Including my prescription tretinoin. Lots of people use their stuff on their necks but I think a lot of people don't think about the back of their hands. Sunscreen too! I found a hand lotion with SPF I've been trying out.

I use tretinoin under my eyes 3x/week. I put a thin layer of Vaseline and then the retinoid. The best eye cream one can buy!

For the eyes, just use your serum, your moisturizer and once your skin soaks it all in, put on some petroleum jelly to hold in the moisture

Agree with everything you said, except the eye cream. You may not need eye cream if you are below 30. After 30, it is better to start using eye cream/serum/mask regularly.

Merci..Sorry. I'm a big believer I eye cream. I seen people no eye cream et it didn't do wonders on their under eye. Plus the ingredients you mentioned for eye cream aren't organic. The under eyes are very delicate et need a gentle touch.

Thank you for calling out the BS marketing gimmicks of the beauty industry! Most of the time, they're just after your hard-earned cash. I applaud you for this.👏👏👍👍
