I picked up the SKIL RT1322 14 amp router from Lowes a few weeks ago. Overall I’m impressed with the value of the tool, especially considering everything $140 gets you. Hope you enjoy!

Thank you. Seems like it’s going to be a long and bumpy road, but I’m having fun none the less.

Unfortunately for you, you got a defective plunge base. Cause that 1/4'' gap you have with it, I dont on mine. Mine is tight to the top, no play at all. If I were you I would contact the company, cause you truly have a defective plunge base! I have two, cause I do have one on my router table, that I bought cheaper with only the fix base. It works great for my router table and it works really good on my wood working. And as you said which is true, the wrench is crap, get yourselves a better wrench for it, theres too much play and you can risk damaging the collet nut after a while. So change that thing for something better. There are better routers out there of course. But for simple DIYers on a budget, The Skil is a good way to go. Thanks for your video and Good Luck

My first experience with it was it seemed to vibrate excessively. Maybe that could have been the bit. I haven't tried any other bits yet but it was a 1/4 inch roundover.

I haven’t noticed excessive vibrations with mine. Granted… the quality control probably isn’t there so you could have got a dud. Try a new bit and if it is still there exchange?

Thanks for the review, any further comment now that you have used it for some time?

Plenty of power and would be great in a flattening jig or router table. A bit too cumbersome to be your only router.
