Mike, great video, but I got to tell you that the best garden tools I have are my kids. Nothing better than sitting on the porch watching them mowing, trimming and raking.

Lol! Thanks! Mine is almost 5 so I have a few more years before he takes over the yard work.

Would you recommend this one or the other trimmer? I don’t have any real need for an edger as I don’t have anything to edge, but need a trimmer

Hello! If you have no use for additional attachments I’d go for the other basic trimmer. The power head is bigger and heavier. FYI though most PHs use a universal attachment system so you can use other brands attachments and that gives you a lot of tool options. Thanks for watching!

@@ProjectsForAllReviews Thanks for the info. I just don’t see myself swapping out attachments or anything like that ever.

I just got a SKIL string trimmer and I am having trouble with releasing the battery. I had hoped u would have covered this. You totally skipped over the battery end. Also u failed to mention that with a lithium ion battery, it should not be stored near anything flammable.

Big question: Will this power head work with the Ryobi "Expand-It" and Troy-Bilt "TrimmerPlus" attachments (which I believe are cross-compatible) or will it only work with Skil's attachments? If it works with all of the commonly available attachments at Lowe's and Home Depot then I'm sold. If it only works with Skil's attachments then I'll pass.

Good question Craig but I don’t have attachments for either to test. I’ll ask Skil and update this when I get a response. Thanks for watching!

Hello again. Im told the power head has a universal attachment system so should work with Ryobi, Kobalt, Trimmer-plus or anything that’s also universal.

@@ProjectsForAllReviews If it's compatible with the others then that becomes very compelling. I'm pretty deep into the Ego platform. If this Skil 40v system and power head were around when I started into the Ego platform then I never would have gone with Ego. The Ego stuff is really nice, but it gets really pricey at the top end AND the power head only works with Ego's very pricey attachments. I had a bigger lawn when I bought my Ego stuff. I now only have 3000sf of lawn. I could very easily get by with the Skil 40v equipment.
