He means uphill outside edge (side references the body, not the slope). Notice the longer hold of the planted ski pole, and the lack a pole straps. Additionally, he is essentially pushing up/off the uphill ski, so that the downhill ski can dip quickly, redirect, and make the turn shorter/quicker.

so much easier these days then back in the early when me and all the other Summitt Lifties and MGs at Skiing Louise all skied with either a 215 super G or an actual DH board , 227- 230 from one of the national teams - It was a real trend for a while and definitely was a lot of fun rippin Outer Limits on a pair of big long stable boards....could get pretty mixed up on the headwall when first getting used to that length or wki......but definitely cruising at 60mph was so very stable! - At the end of every day's work, six or seven of us would race from the top of the old Summit Tbar, to the bottom of the old Olympic chair...You could take any route down the Summit you wanted but you had to exit off Wiwaxy and on to Men's Downhill for the final tuck! - oh to be young a fearless again !!!... Unfortunately, the 13 years I spent out there charging hard 120 plus days each and every seasons has left my knees in a complete mess, bone on bone crunching sound, two torn meniscus and other ligament damage in my left knee. Thus, skiing is no longer something I can pursue, the pain is just too great- even walking is a problem and I am only 56 years old...........so some people unfortunately pay a heavy price - and this is just really from steep aggressive skiing only, I never experienced any really serious accidents - I am now on a wait list for a double knee replacement........I hope I will be able to hit the slopes once more in five or six years!!!

This is not skiing. This is jump turning. Point your skis downhill and believe that you're going to ski it.

Andrew the felon. Wow, I had respect for him prior to he and his wife stealing from hunters in Utah.
