I love how sweet and honest she always is in interviews. Truly a superstar!

Starting lessons next month I am so excited. I've only been skating five or six times but I can glide, t stop, go backwards and spin. I am so excited to start learning even more. I cant wait to be able to skate to music I am SO excited. My whole life I have never really had a hobby I was into. I am so glad I discovered the beautiful world of figure skating.

I started to watch a bunch of Ice skating videos and I started to learn how to ice skate at an ice skating rink and I'm do stretches to become as flexible as Yuri Plisetsky. And I'm doing all of that just because of Yuri on ice. I love that anime so much. It's one of my favorites.

she makes all of this look so easy!! I went skating yesterday and it is so hard!😂

If you are trying to skate competitively then it might be tight unless you work very hard on ice skating. If you work hard then you can definitely get good. If you are skating for fun any age is fine :)

Kayuune you can still skate competitively just don't expect to get into the olympics or something like that. There are adult competitions and stuff that are pretty major. Unless you want to only skate to get into the olympics which would be pretty crazy. You don't have to be among the best... skate for yourself! There are people that are 49 that skate competitively in competitions. I'm almost 16 and decided to take on skating so it's really never too late to try something new.

I also heard that the more you bend your knees the more balance you have. Is that true? I think it is but I don't know for sure.

ThatRandomPerson :I it's about lowering your center of gravity. a lot of core-intensive sports centered on your balance, like skateboarding or surfing, will have you bending your knees to keep you balanced. for beginners, at any time you feel like youre about to slip backwards, just bend forward and touch your knees.

Oh dang I was about to turn the video off when she said she was from the Detroit area! I live in the Detroit area also but had no idea there were great ice skating coaches near.

I was at a junior competition and I came second, is this good. Also I recently landed my quad salchow which I'm happy with.

Wow I can’t believe that she’s from Detroit! I live very close to Detroit, but I don’t skate in rinks there. I skate at the rinks closer to where I live

*sighs* 😩😫I wish I could participate in ice skating, but the civic center in my town is shut down. I'm worried when I do move to a near by skate rink, I'll be too old to start ice skating. I'm only kinda good at rollerblading.

don't worry about your age. :) its never too old to learn how to ice skate!! i am 16 and i am starting iceskating after christmas!! and the nearest rink is 1 hour and a half away :) your never too old for it! :)

Kayuune , actually, they have compared Yuuri to yuzuru hanyu, Yurio to yulia and Viktor to plushneko. Many people even go as far as to comment on plushneko's Facebook, asking him to leave his wife and find a Japanese skater as a husband.

I live in south America and our country is too hot to have ice skating be a thing,just recently the first ice skating rink was opened..But it's in another district. I really wish I was born in a country where I could've learned,I feel like figure skating could've really been my thing

Going to try figure skating next school year and this is all because of yuri on ice I couldn't figure skate untill now because our country is really small and there anren't a lot of places to learn figure skating So i'm going to try it in Klagenfurt when i go to highschool there in september

lol, i barely ice skate, and Im 19 but I want to get to the point where skating on ice would feel like walking on the ground and not being scared to fall at all. Aaand im kinda plus size so it would be a really big deal for me.

It's not too difficult to learn the basics. I taught myself how to skate by just going to the rink a couple times a week :-) it's easier if you work out some at home or at a gym especially if you're doing exercises to improve your balance like yoga. I find that doing yoga really helps, too. Go out there and learn! You'll do great!!
