First one I ever saw was on the 1281 video....and the late kick flip. Yes it blew minds, and I was the only one in my town and south bend/mishawaka indiana who could do them.

for some mysterious reason this was my fav trick back in the days when i was skating :P just felt so fucking good when done right XD

You flip late kickflips with your back foot, not your front foot, so it looks a lot different than a regular kickflip. The same foot that pops also flips the board. Check out my nollie late kickflip skateology.

I can't even imagine ollie'ing that high in the first place but then a late shuv. The shit these guys are doing now days probably make Rodney soooo proud

Ollies come off as natural, so once you reach a certain point, it's as simple as jumping in the air and flipping the bird :P

That makes sense, I just can't put my mind to flicking when it all happens so fast. But thanks for the tip.... I will definitely attempt it as soon as I get a dry day. :P

Don't think about a flick....think about just switching your feet. Back foot moves to right in front of you, front foot moves behind you. And you only need to move your feet about 70° and back. The foot move out is slow and you bring your feet back to start fast, to land.

Late flips/shuvs are something I can't get my head around. You have to ollie and in mid process flick your board the way you intend it to go. The ollie itself is so fast, I don't get how to think fast enough to ollie and flick. Every time I try to late kickflip, I just end up doing a regular kickflip. It's like, "How much time do you have to wait before it's considered 'late'?"

late tricks are essentially back foot tricks, in other words flicking with the foot you pop with. if you're trying to do a lateflip with the foot you do kickflips with, well, people don't really do those.

If i may ask, i have trouble on my tre flips...i have my 360 shuvs down and my varials but i can never spin my board a full 360 with the kickflip no matter how many times i practice. Any ideas??

you have to get get to the peak height of your ollie and then flip/shuv it on the way down. If you need more time just do it out of a ramp.

See when I do mine my feet shove it around and I bring them back way before the wheels hit the ground. I land it in the air and push the board down to the ground.....
