SkateHoarders: Tony Hawk | Season 1 Ep 7
Спорт
From a framed invitation to the White House to mock cologne bottles, his fake check from Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (which ended up funding the Tony Hawk Foundation), Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, The very first Birdhouse board ever made, Kiss-themed Skateboards, his Del Mar Skate Ranch membership card... the list goes on and on.
Tony Hawk claims he's not a "hoarder" by definition-and to a fault admits he's probably given away too many of his belongings over the years (trophies, boards, etc.) but he definitely has his fair share of collectibles, knick-knacks, old boards and plenty of items with stories behind them that branch out far beyond skateboarding sitting around his office. Thanks for letting us lurk through your stuff, Tony!

I watched that kids choice award as an elementary schooler. You were/are my hero. Currently in law school and I can say that you are the ideal role model for someone who has successfully balanced what you love into a successful career. Thank you Tony Hawk, beyond being a skating legend, but you have shown me what it is like to venture into a new world (mass public introduction into skating) define the understanding, be professional, and above all (for me aspiring to be a father) have a family. Seeing the hard work, the dedication to mastering craft, your ability to be the "chairman of the board" (I bought a scholastic journal with you on the cover as "Chairman of the 'board'" in fourth grade and knew after reading it you were much more than just a skateboarder. You are the man! Hawk clothing line was the coolest thing on the planet when I was in fifth grade by the way lol

Tony, you won’t ever see this but, I live in a rural town on the edge of Wisconsin, cops would never let us skate anywhere in my town and there were no skate parks near. so it was really hard to be able to skate without getting a fine or your board confiscated. I never liked any competitive sports like football and such and I finally started skating in my garage and was hooked immediately, but with nowhere to go, it was tough. But about a year after I started skating a skate park started to be built near my town, every one of my friends were talking about it. As soon as it opened we all flocked to it and as soon as we got there we saw that the entire thing was funded by the tony hawk foundation. and I just wanted to say thanks for starting this foundation. I always have looked up to you and you were the one that got me skating in the first place. but I look up to you even more now. Thanks for inspiring me to begin skating and even more being the reason we can continue to skate.

I learned so much from watching this 🔥 Tony is forever #1 among the nation
The world is ready for a Tony Hawk documentary. This documentary needs to happen. We have dogtown and z boyz, bones brigade, the man that souled the world. First 2 are great but much older in history. The latter is basically the time in which street skateboarding morphed into basically what it is today. We NEED one from a vert perspective and theres nobody better to revolve it around than Tony. Yes, many many other influential vert skaters of the time. Danny Way as an example i feel should have his own also. Dudes a absolute BEAST, but we all know a Tony Hawk doc is something that would absolutely get major attention and make millions. The world is ready for it and Tony is in a part in his life where it absolutely makes sense. Theres only one other doc that i know of that isnt nessisarily about the 90s vert scene directly, but more about 2 brothers that messed up their careers and life. Not gonna mention it out of respect because they had none for him in it unfortunately but we need the Tony Hawk documentary. Again, I feel the world is ready for it. Skaters and lovers of a good success story alike.🤙🤙
Jeremy Klein board graphic reminds me of Kagome from Inuyasha
this was amazing, tony is one of the most humble dudes out there, keep going!
At 9:13 when Tony was like "These are all random art skate projects, these represent different countries" I immediately hoped that there was at least one from Mexico (my country) but then he showed one from Australia, and I thought "Oh yeah, that makes sense, he's a skater, he only has stuff from cool countries like that." And he proceded to show one from South Africa which was even cooler and another from Ireland that is very unique. At that point I had lost hope, but then he showed not only one, but two boards from Mexico. It may sound very silly, but it cheered me up, Tony Hawk is awesome.
"And so I stole it " such a rad thing to say. I've got some stuff you can steal.....as long as you sign it and give it back.....and steal it again!!! Lol, you and Natas will always be my all time favorite skaters 🤘🤘
Wild at heart. Forever
16:19 Trust me, Tony, you will be able to sell it for even more because of that story.
This is amazing. Tony feeling each memory and taking us through these amazing stories... so rad. Fly true, Hawkman.
Tony was my biggest hero as a kid (in the 90s) and he's still such a huge inspiration. You can tell a lot of this stuff has so much meaning to him, you can hear it in his voice.

Tony hawks the coolest. I can’t believe Wild at heart is one of his favorite movies.
This is just a vid of all the stuff Tony has finessed over the years 😂😂
Great video, thanks for the upload!!!
Tony Hawk is the greatest skateboard pro ever - the man brought the sport back from the dead!
When Tony says, 'bottles', I'm immediately transported back to the movie, Haggard.
That chicken bucket story is hilarious. First he wouldn't tell you which son did it and then he mentions Calvin's name haha
I just watched gleaming the cube the other day after like 20 or so years
