the etnies cranks/ any of their expensive shoes are designed for downhill/ enduro mountain biking. Theyre basically just water/ weather proof and have a different construction better suited towards the outdoors. But they charge a lot because mountain biking is an already expensive sport and can get away with it unlike with most skaters.

Etnies MTB is mountain bike. It’s a downhill mountain bike shoe lol

as someone who has worn accels with the laces tucked for over twenty years now im slightly offended. lol. It was the style back in the early 2000s. giant pants didnt make sense either but it was the style.

8:58 I loved that confussion about that shoe, I hoped "pedal" will give you a hint what kind of shoe is that but nope. Etnies makes also shoes for mountain biking (I have pair and they are good) I don't think you will be able to skate them (sole is so hard you can't bend it at all)

The converse cons high top at 1:43 is actually a remaster of one of converses basketball shoes which used to be called converse cons before they made skateboarding shoes.

I may be able to explain the pant "tuck" situation. As a shorter guy most pants are longer than they should be for me, instead of hemming them or cutting them I just send it. I also skate in high top shoes and that is just the way the pants end up laying. Tucked behind the tongue but over top of the ankle part. Not saying it looks cool but it may explain the picture. Keep doing your thang, love the content.

Yeah my smaller homie has this issue as well. Dude is 5'4 and many of the pants he wants to buy just aren't sized to fit his short and small frame, so he buys a couple sizes up, tucks the pants and sometimes the shirts if they're too baggy.

I'd sort Straye into 2 categories: skate shoes and hype shoes. The skate shoes (the ventura, the converse hi top clone) are actually pretty solid for the price. They break in quick and need a better insole, but quality wise you're not gonna find a better shoe for 65 bucks or less

That etnies shoe was a downhill mtn bike shoe btw

eS accel slim plus with the velcro are dope shoes, that outsole is one of the best cups on the market atm!!!

éS is and has been my top teir for a loooong time. The salba rereleases, the return of the quattro, the silo, the new quattro slim that I gotta pick up. Brand is true to its core and quality just keeps getting better tbf And tbf, adidas friggin kills it too. As much as I love eS, nothing is more comfortable than adidas. The buesenitz and tyshawn are just exceptional shoes and then when you skate in them its just 👌👌👌👌👌

Wide shoes I desperately need. Vans work for me, my Emericas are a tad narrow. My favorite shoes ever were a "Fallen 'Slash' Easy" that came in black or blue with a Native American print, they came out before fallen went out of business the first time, looks-wise I think they're really excellent shoes

Big fan. But you should not comment on the quality of the shoe or the entire brand without skating or even touching them first, as you stated in your introduction. You forgot to stick to that when commenting on Straye. Also, it would be funny if you did a tier list on your headwear/hairdos.

Skaters did do that with their shoes and laces in the early-mid 00s. It was kinda dumb because they didn't stay on that well when skating most times but skaters absolutely did wear them like that like 15 years ago and skated them that way.

Yep. Or we just tied the lace in a little knot on each side so the lace wouldn't pull out, rather than tying a bow or something.

es omega some of the best shoes i’ve ever skated and not that it really matters but got the most compliments as well

Straye should be B tier at least; I’ve skated the suede slip ons and have seen they have a similar suede high top, and I’ve been super satisfied with the durability/flick! Most of their designs suck, but they have some solid colors (mostly black) available

All us OGs from 1997 tuck our laces in bro.

Those exact big Etnies shoes have been around for like 15 years. I wore them in high school in the mid 00s. And it's funny you mentioned it because they had a Metal Militia version of those exact shoes which I still have in my closet somewhere. I remember them skating pretty well back then so I'm sure they still do but those fat skate shoes haven't been popular in a while so I haven't bought or skated any in over 10 years. Same for fat DC shoes.

I have Adidas 3MC which are canvas, I got them cheap and I thought for sure they would blow out fast. Other than destroying the laces in 5 mins, I shoe-goo'd the entire side of laces and they are fine, canvas hasn't even worn out

I had a pair recently, gave em to another "skater", mainly this stoner kid who rides a longboard but has a street board he never rides lol I couldn't stand seeing him push around in his granddad nikes so I gave em the accels and gave him shit everytime I saw him, he didn't fn wear them until like 6 months later. @@BLVCKSEA I remember the accel plus which had a strap too. That was almost 20 years ago. They also had the square one which was a slimmed down version but on a vulcanized sole. That was also almost 20 years ago. I still remember putting them on and doing the first kick flip and thinking holy shit that felt good. It was the first vulc shoe I ever skated.

Nike SB. Cons. Adidas. DC. Lakai. NB#. Es' and Vans are the only skate shoe brands that I really support. Nike SB Dunk Mids were some of my favorite shoes to skate. Pretty bummed they havent released a pair in a while.

The es silos skate really well. Idk why but I was able to learn hardflips in them, like 1st try lol

I'm sitting here in my eS Accel OGs right now. I ordered another pair of Accels this morning. I'm throwing away & donating all my other shoes for more Accels (fkn srs). I'm wearing out my Accel Slims so I can replace them with Accel OGs. I am a whore for puffy Accels. I'm just glad I can skate in the same shoes I grew up skating in again and I'm at the point where I think it's just best to choose something and stick with it. I've got several different shoes these days and it feels like switching around too much is killing my feet because of the lack of consistency in the arches/sole support and so many soles are vulcanized bullshit...who the fuck decided to introduce that to an impact sport like skating? I'm 6'4" and around 220lbs right now, so I need the cupsoles to deal with extra weight. Puffy cupsoles, loose trucks, & soft wheels for liiife.

The marana has got to be one the best shoes because it literally lasted forever!! I've had a pair for like three years i skated them for a year no blow outs I mainly skate weekends so I personally have nothing but praise for the marana and joslins

És Accel and the Emerica Reynolds will always be my favourite skate shoes

I only skate es accel og's, because I did use them younger, and now that I'm ancient skater with a busted back foot, (right ankle has ten screws and one metal plate in it) so og's are the ones that I don't feel that much pain when I'm skating..
