Skatathon 42km - WE DID IT ! - Punggol Park to Sports Hub.

We started off early at Punggol Park when the sun is barely up. The first part of the skate was mainly urban skating and once we hit Changi Village, the route to Sports Hub were mainly PCN. Great experience and i definitely need to work on my stamina.

Great skate! Jealous of all those smooth surfaces! Here where I live in the UK it's a bit rough on a lot of pavements and roads.

Derek Chua Goodness, hope she’s okay. We always help out those having difficulty or not feeling confident while going down hill. Thus making it safer for everyone. We also witnessed an accident between a few road bikes the same day we took this video. It was quite serious as the ambulance 🚑 came too. Thanks for the heads up, I’m glad you enjoyed the video 😊

hi am also a skater. as i am still improving on my braking technique, how did you guys brake well with the right technique on long downslopes. My greatest fear is not knowing how to slow it down and end up having into an accident haha

We usually would use T Stop to go down the slopes safely.

Yes Jason, we had lots of fun. I suggest joining us for our Wednesday evening skate at Sports Hub. There you can meet different groups of skaters. Come say Hi to us at gate 5-6 gate, usually 7pm onward. You will definitely spot us.

Wow awesome I really hope I can do it. Anyway I am planning to buy a new skate. been so long have not touch it. I notice that most of u all using three wheel . Like doing long distance rollerblading can u all intro me what type of brand to go for. Isit three wheel type ment for long distance? My budget wise maybe around 100-200 Any good recommendations for that for long distance usage

Hi Leong, thanks for the comments. I’m very sure everyone can do it. I have been skating in 4x80mm for the longest time and did a few long distance skating in those too. In general the bigger the wheels the better the rolling but it might also be more challenging to control for beginners

I would suggest trying out those skates before purchasing. Some of the Brands I used. Powerslide, rollerblade & flying eagle.

Hi I just purchased flying eagle f4 raven wheel is76mm. I find the comfort so far ok. Anyway will try to skate first after so long 25 years did not skate already totally rusty haha

Hi there Choon Han Ho, of course you can join. I also frequently join different group for urban skating too. There are a few groups practicing every Wednesday evening and Sunday afternoon at sport hub, you may check them out yeah!
