Skagway - Painting and Travel

Skagway - Skagway, Alaska
Roger works in his studio and uses oils to create an 11×14″ painting of a rainy day street scene in Skagway. A brush is used to lay in the composition while explaining one point perspective and the vanishing point. Only three colors are used for the painting, red, yellow, blue plus white. Sarah boards the narrow gauge White Pass and Yukon Railroad for a steep ride up through the mountains to the Canadian border.

I think this is my first time commenting. I've been enjoying these videos as TV episodes for a couple of years now. The two of you deserve a lot of credit as art and travel vlogging pioneers, since you talk us through your thought process and your guiding art concepts for each project, since your tour segments tell a wonderful story about your encounters at each place you visit, and since your show doesn't have the usual 30-100 production team names in the end credits. I first saw this project on TV a few weeks ago, and it instantly became one of my favorites of yours. Even though she's not in the painting, the tour guide at the end was also a lot of fun. I'm going to use this piece as inspo to try my hand at a bit of one-point perspective.
