SJCAM SJ4000 WiFi Action Camera Time Lapse How-To Guide

In this video I show you how to set up your SJ4000 WiFi to take photos that you can turn into a time-lapse video for free with Google's Picasa. I hop over to Premiere at the end to briefly show how easy it is to then integrate the scenes into your own videos.
Thanks, Rob.

    +Review Outlaw Most compacts take really good video, and the phone you have probably does too. The trick is getting more light in the scene to reduce noise. Also remember that in video, sound is the most important thing, so investing in a cheap audio recorder like a Zoom H1 will make the most difference. You could use the H1 with the SJ4000 or any other video camera. Also check out my video on using your phone to record sound with your SJ4000: kzread.info/dash/bejne/la5kzJOdf9TZnM4.html

    Rob, I can't tell you how wonderfully informative this is. I have a DBPower 5000 and I think the cameras are essentially the same, but the DBPower folks offer no support when I ask questions and their printed guide is incomplete. Tell me one thing: On my camera, I have "duration" and "time lapse," both. What's the difference between "sequence/duration" and "time lapse" settings and how do you make the "time lapse" setting work on the camera?

  • @RobNunn

    @RobNunn

    8 жыл бұрын

    I'm pretty sure that duration refers to when the camera is recording looped video, say you're using it as a dash cam in your car. The duration is the amount of time the video records before it records over itself. Alternatively it could be the amount of time the camera records the timelapse for. TImelapse will be the gap, in seconds, between the camera taking still photos. Probably.

Sjcam have sent me the original firmware of 1.1 but its made no difference even tho the firmware says 1.1. Sjcam have offered no more help so ive no idea if ive lost image stabilisation on the camera. frnakly not worth upgrading. Unless anyone has any idea how i can get anti shake back or even if the anti shake is any good. But good video

    +Mait Davis I haven't tried it myself, but if your phone is compatible, then maybe try plugging a mic straight in, but I know with Android this can be a bit hit and miss, but for IOS ROde make a nice Lav that I think comes with good sofware too. If all else fails, just record with the built in mic on your phone - if you're in a quiet environment they can be quite good.

    Dude i think you're a little confused! Native resolution of the sensor is 1080 for videolapse. Native resolution for photos is 14mp. Youre doing a photolapse so you need max resolution of 14mp. Trust me, the diference in image quality is clear to see. Also shooting in a larger resolution than the 1080P of the final output video gives you the option to pan and zoom the timelapse within the 1080 window during editing for those using a little more advanced software. Either way, your info on cranking the res above 1080 wont give you any benefit is completely wrong. Example. A DSLR can shoot much higher res photos than it can shoot video, a factor with all cameras.
