I wasn’t able to add this into the video last night since I’m traveling for the PPA, but Six Zero has informed me their warranty has now been updated to: 6 months for core crushing and 12 months for everything else. If I had a microphone with me while traveling I would have added this to the video. Sorry about the missing info!

Great review as always, Chris you DA Man!! If your'e hitting the ground often enough to bust up your edgeless w/tape, wouldn't that compromise the the edge guard's attachment to the core? Repairing a loose edge guard can be tricky to do right. It's a sharp looker for sure though.

Thanks, Chris! Your insights and descriptions are always so well done. I just oredered a DBD on the Black Friday sale. After analyzing what I could find on the Infinity, including the discussion you and Will had, I came to the same conclusions you had after you had played both. I'll be interested to hear your review if the Ruby when it hits the market. Thanks for all of the great content!

Anyone thinking about the new DBD Infinity paddle, be careful with the grip size that you receive. I have used a paddle with the 4.5 inch handle size for 2 weeks and now have a severe case of tennis elbow. It was hurting so much today, i had to stop during a match and leave the court. Been playing PB for 14 months and this is the first time I have had this issue. I did contact Six Zero support and i can return the paddle, but have to pay for shipping and a 10% restocking fee. (not good) Just be aware if you are thinking about this paddle, you might be get a 4.25 grip size or your might receive a 4.5. I wished i had the choice, but it was not offered.

Nice comparison. Based on my personal experience, for people who like playing with the Vatic Prism Flash 16mm, the DBD Infinity is an upgrade in most ways. The Infinity has equal or better control, a bit more power, and equal or better hand speed due to a slightly lower swing weight. The only downside is the Infinity does have a slightly smaller sweet spot. Nonetheless, I have now gifted my Vatic to my wife and the Infinity is my main paddle.

I am glad that this paddle has a spot in the Six Zero lineup. In golf, you have players irons and game improvement irons. Players irons (Blades) have smaller sweetspots but help consistent ball strikers shape and control their shots. This paddle is like a player's iron. When you hit the sweetspot it feels incredible, and the control and spin is fantastic. A great 3rd shot drive for me isn't based on velocity, but rather placing the ball a foot over the net at a desired spot with topspin, diving downwards. The original DBD is like a game improvement iron in golf. It has a generous sweetspot and is very forgiving. Staying with the golf theme, the edge guard on your paddle not only protects it, but acts as a perimeter weight, increasing the size of the sweetspot. When you don't have an edge guard, you lose some of the perimeter weighting, and that impacts sweetspot. NUTSHELL: If you are a consistent player and looking for control, spin, and maneuverability at the kitchen line, this paddle is a great choice.

Coming from a golfing background myself (also playing forged blades) this is the exact analogy I used to describe different paddles to some friends as well. The perimeter weighting is very much like the effect of a cavity back iron versus a muscle back iron blade.

hey bro I have played with both of these paddles. I like the control I have with the infinity but I don't like the swing weight. My serves with the double black diamond are we more controlled. I was thinking of adding lead tape to increase the swing weight while utilizing the control. You suggested if I was going to add lead tape I should just get the original double black diamond. My question is if I add lead tape to the infinity, Will that compromise the control?

I'm confused, adding lead feels ironic? There must be a silver lining, usually your advice is golden! Today I noticed a crinkly feeling/sound when pressing the surface of my paddle. I do not notice any extra "poppy" sound of the paddle with drives. I have not noticed any decrease in my control game. Is this core crush? Delamination? it's a 8 month old paddle and we regularly play in 30 degree weather so I'm out of warranty. Still love this paddle. John

Chris, since this really is all about advertising to the populous for purchase, you should really include details about the warranty. It is ONLY a 120 day warranty concerning core issues like disbonding etc and their policy isn't customer friendly when it comes to really standing behind their products integrity in the long run. The 120 day policy comes straight from the company and greatly dissuaded my perspective and i am usually highly generous. Give the public ALL THE DATA.

Hey Chris! I’ve been diving into shoes recently and am having a hard time finding a shoe that is durable enough for the constant wear and tear of pickleball. To be honest, 3 months isn’t bad. Myself and others can wear our shoes in 2 weeks to a month. Anything longer than 3 months and either your shoe is a rock or you aren’t playing as much. Check out Zach the Foot Doctor on KZread for court shoe advice. He’s amazing.

@@PickleballStudio I love Zach’s channel! I reference his videos all the time. He’s been super helpful. I was playing 4-5 times per week. 4ish hours per session. But it’s getting pretty frigid out here now so I’m having a hard time finding people to come out with me. We don’t have any indoor courts here yet. So now it’s down to 2-3 sessions per week. Anyway, I’ve been able to get my shoes to last two or three months most of the time if I’m being mindful to not drag too hard. But each pair is over a hundred bucks and my wallet is not happy with me. Haha. Any suggestions?

Good review Chris and pretty much how I found it. The only thing I slightly disagree on is that you say putting 6 grams of lead tape low down on the bottom corner is ironic as you are basically turning into a DBD. I don't find that this is the case - the Infinity is still a lot faster in the hands than the DBD even with the lead tape. It has to be really as it doesn't have an edge guard all around the perimeter. An edge guard adds weight of course but also has a negative effect on aerodynamics. The Infinity is a great option for players who want faster hand speed and a soft feel as you said but I find that, like all other edgeless paddles that I have tried, it does need the extra weight at the sides to increase both the sweet spot and twist weight. For me, it would have been a great upgrade going from a Gen 1 paddle but after playing with a 16mm DBD for the last six months I can't go back to a paddle with less power and pop as, even with the added lead tape, the Infinity is still more a control-oriented paddle albeit with more power than a Gen 1. Having said that, I will keep the Infinity as my backup paddle for now and perhaps practice with it to see how much my drops and dinks improve. One other thing I notice about the Infinity is that it has a much smoother surface than the newer DBDs (I just bought a second one in the Black Friday sale). It feels as smooth as my 6-month old DBD. I know the Infinity still produces great spin but I wonder why it is not as textured as the new DBDs? By the way, have you heard if the smaller grip inserts are available to replace the larger ones fitted by the factory to the original batch? One option is to remove the stock grip and replace it with an overgrip but I would prefer to use the stock cushioned grip.

  • @douglasmurdoch7247

My only real complaint about the SixZero paddles is the mismarketed 5.3 inch handles. If you measure, they’re actually closer to 5.25 inch handles. God I wish they would actually use a 5.5 inch handle. I want to want the upcoming Ruby, but I’m not sure if it also has this short handle.
