Hello Mr. Smith, My Name is Raymond Brown and, I was Senior Project Director and design architect for almost every structure at Jazzland prior to the purchase by Six Flags. I worked on the project from 1997 to 2001 and then a little bit after that. Almost every structure at the park, with the exception of some of the buildings in Cajun Country, were designed by me as an employee of Broadmoor, LLC - The company that constructed the park under a design-build contract. We had a team of approximately six to eight architects on this job. The architect of record is Dean M. Duplantier. There were a lot of people at Broadmoor on both the design and construction side who worked very hard on this project. There was also a host of consultants involved.

Where in the park was the clown head before the hurricane?

It's very odd. I couldn't imagine my local theme park closing for a storm, and then it never reopening every again.

So many good memories of that park from beginning to end.

wow .... this was intense and beautiful. the music just fit the mood i have whenever i see photos of this place to a tee. i'm drawn to it in such a huge way. wish i could just spend even 10 minutes with my camera there. this park is a muse of mine. quiet, calm, still and yet ... beautiful in the eeriest of fashion.

I have to admit, I do prefer the "East Hastings" version of the video, but this has been so beautifully shot in the first place; well done to the director.

So sad to see this beautiful park fade away i think is had somse great petantiols to make a new park out of it .

I found this absolutely outstanding! The cinematography was simply amazing! I loved the incorporated scenes of before the storm near the end. This was just wonderful, you captured everything you possibly could and I love it! One question I did have was as to how you managed to get the permission to film there and how long of a process it took? I've been wanting to do something similar (as film in a city owned place) in my hometown but have no clue as to where to start. Again, this was amazing:)

I honestly don't see why they can't just get rid of the rides. Like sell it to other parks or keep them for back ups when the other rides break down. But if I had money I would do Zombieland and walk around there.

It says at the end of the film in the credits that it was The Robotanists, but an article in Times Picayune says Godspeed You Black Emperor? I guess its the former. If it is really such a big deal to you, you might want to find yourself a hobby. It's not the end of the world because someone decided to film. If you were the owner, maybe I could understand but you're obviously not so stop worrying about it.

Six Flags didnt have enough money to re build the park. It costed about 32.5 mill for restoration. If they re built it, Six Flags would go bankrupt

Even just removing the remains of the site would be very costly. Batman the ride was salvaged because the majority of it was higher up than the flood waters that lasted for weeks. It didn't see the damage the rest of the park did due to the corrosive flood waters.
