Just got it this year too. I use that the gradient hoody and Fahrenheit vest. Have to put it on when I get sat down or else I sweat too much. Love the jacket and got it for $225 to my door brand new. Love the combo

What size do you recommend for me? I am 6’3” but only about 155 and have long arms (35”)...and I recently got the drake 3 in 1 (L) and plan to get the duck oven for under the drake in a large. One thing I have a question about is how water repellent is it? I live in NC so it doesn’t get crazy cold during duck season and deer season. It would be something that sometimes would be my outer layer. I know it doesn’t have the hood like the Dakota but I honestly am not a hood guy! (I was think a Large would be find for me cuz I am skinny and tall but love some feedback!)

Are those both the same size or is the Dakota hoodie a size up?

How do you feel about the dakota jacket over the duck oven?

@@jacksonk6905 not really , i normaly don't have to wear them all together but with all three no matter what the weather you are set . The delta wadding jacket is the bomb for rainny days i wear the duck over under if it is cold and your set .

I just can NOT get over the fact there’s no hood? For that price it should come with at least some bells and whistles

If you had to recommend either the duck oven or dakota hoodie for hunting exclusively in marsh with waders, which would you pick?

Great review! Would you recommend sizing up on the Dakota Hoody though? I wear a large in all of my Sitka tops/jackets....concerned if layering under the Dakota with a Duck Oven, it may be a little snug. Are both of yours the same size? Thanks a lot and keep up the great work!

Thanks man! I wear a Medium in both. It can be a little snug, but not terrible! I didn't size up in the dakota hoodie because most of the time im wearing it without the duck oven. The times I need to wear it underneath I just deal with it being a little snug

Hey man I got a question for you. I deer hunt most of the time and duck hunt some but not as much I was planning on getting the Dakota hoody and layering underneath with the duck oven i also have some under armour 3.0 then a core mid weight zip and a drake vest I have heard some bad things about each piece and am kind of skeptical on what to buy. Will I be warm enough to stay out in the woods in prob 25-55 degrease. I have been using some bottomland camo and the deer had no problems with it so I figured I would get the timber patter of Sitka because I know the ducks can see the whitetail pattern. Hey man! the dakota hoodie with the duck oven under it and the other layers will keep you plenty warm! When it gets super cold i wear my duck oven under the dakota hoodie and its awesome!

It could work for sure, but the material on the dakota hoodie is a lot tougher and more weather resistant than the duck oven.

The duck oven is warmer than the LST. but it is not waterproof and does not have a hood. You need a shell for the duck oven (like the hudson or delta wading jacket) to make it like 3 in 1 lst jacket. Theres a pretty big price difference, but there is a pretty big quality difference too

@@hestonhenry I have never had waterfowl gear last more than 2-3 years in past. some of my sitka is on year 4 and if you clean it up, it could pass as new. Incredibly durable.

All of my drake clothing did not last more than a few years at most .. I have not tried sitka but I'm pretty sure it will outlast drake...

My natgear has always kept me warm and I have never gotten cold and it’s like 3times cheaper
