Sirt El Hob - Oum Kalthoum [ENGLISH TRANSLATION - PART 4/4]

Ойын-сауық

Firstly, I apologize that this translation is not all in one video. I am not able to upload videos longer than 15 minutes as my account has 1 strike against it. Links to the all/other parts are at the end of each video, and are also listed here:
PART 1: • Sirt El Hob - Oum Kalt...
PART 2: • Sirt El Hob - Oum Kalt...
PART 3: • Sirt El Hob - Oum Kalt...
PART 4: • Sirt El Hob - Oum Kalt...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sirt al hob, like all of Oum kalthums songs, was written by professional arabian poets. The language used is very elegant, and extremely difficult to translate 100% correctly. I have tried as hard as I can to give the most clear and accurate translation possible.
In all my translations, I try to make the words make as much sense as possible. Alot of the time Arabic, if translated literally - word for word, would NOT make sense in english. Because of that I modify the words so that they make sense, but at the same time, stay as close to the original meaning as possible.
That being said, if you DO want to complain about how some parts may not be 100% literally correct, then i am waiting, with great anticipation, to see your own translation video! I am not an arab, and I do not speak arabic 100% fluently :)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a live performance, so you'll hear applause/cheering regularly. Umm Kalthum was was unquestionably the most gifted singers and musicians of the 20th century in the Middle East. She is one of four vocalists who have achieved LEGENDARY status in Egyptian music.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Extra Notes about the songs words:
In Arabic, the terms 'my life' (hyati) or 'my heart' (alby) or 'my soul' (rouhi) or 'my mind'(aali) can be/are used as endearments. These are used many times within the song.
'The lovers have consistently repended' (6:30) This line means the lovers have been hurt, broken, torn apart, but they keep going back to love again and again.
Ya salaam is more literally translated as 'Oh wow!'. Similar to 'MashaAllah', you'd say it when somthing is beautiful, sweet, wonderful.
Around 36.30 of the song (PART 4) She is saying 'Allah!' Meaning 'God'. She is NOT Calling her lover her god, but rather saying 'Oh my god!' as you would say when you are surprised, happy etc...

She can't be singing about the love between humans. I think she sings about the devine love from God.
