To really understand what David Ajaye is attempting to do in Ghana, starting with Accra we really need to get into his shoes (or mind) and get out of our own bodies. David is really trying to help make Ghana dream BIG. Bigger than it has ever done or perhaps even capable of. In David's mind, he sees himself and his country of birth as a star, the star of Africa. He sees an opportunity to help in re-designing or recreating a nation that was meant to have been the model for the liberation of a continent. It's bold, earth-shattering and many a Ghanaian will not be able to understand, if looked at from the lens of just Ghana and Ghana's development alone. He is building these things like he is doing it for the whole of the continent. He's designing like how Kwame Nkrumah would have when given a blank canvass as a new nation and he's starting from the centre of Accra. He's looking at the future, at the next 50, 100 years and more and trying to set a certain template and bring order to and in Accra. I'm so impressed. It's actually scary, but I get it. So thankful to be alive at this time. Thank you, David. Ghana is proud, very proud of you and don't you forget it. Please be patient with us. We'll all get it soon and will support you more too. (Just make sure your work here does really capture and show off the essence of the human also known as 'the African' and what should be our place in the world.)

An impressive architect with great insight, vision and action with inspiring quotes: "I am an architect for people, for human beings; the greening of the city; not mimicking the west..." and so much more.

The Office of the President in Ghana has a unit for Diasporan affairs and they keep in touch and maintain a database of all African diasporans who want to contribute to Ghana's development and many diasporans have been asked to help with all sorts of technical and engineering issues in Ghana's development agenda. You can contact the Diasporan affairs unit via the website of the Office of the President in Ghana. As a student of architecture, it will interest you to know that, David Adjaye has established a practice/office in Ghana, the first in Africa and you may avail yourself of possible internships if there are any available. It is exciting to know about your studies and I am looking forward to seeing buildings you design in the near future. Well done.

dr mensah came by himself, and asked the president to listen to him. He worked hard to get the stupid leaders to listen to him. Addo didnt do anything. Also, why on earth are they building a cathedral? He needs to deal with all the issues Ghana is going through FIRST.

The proposed Cathedral would earns Ghana so much money through tourism that it would pay for itself within a short time. Ghanaians need jobs through tourism and would earn more than the export of gold and cocoa.

Like he said, Nkrumah is the only good president that Ghana has ever had. He is the ONLY president that cared about ghana. It wasn't until Addo's Busia Dankwa family caused a coup and has sent ghana to hell ever since.
