In 1999 Manchester United's heroes past and present combined with a host of international stars to produce a good-humoured testimonial for manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Nearly 55,000 supporters packed into Old Trafford to pay tribute to the most successful manager in the club's history and welcome back the likes of Eric Cantona and Peter Schmeichel with roof-raising roars of approval.
The event was capped with the fielding of a team consisting entirely of Manchester United's past greats - and David Beckham - for the last 20 minutes.

I was wondering that myself but then realised he'd left United by then. This game was in October 1999 and Schmeichel had left at the end of the 1998/99 season.
