I think these are a great idea as you can set a dimension without measuring and is very repeatable. I just wish they would make one that mounts on the front of the saw table. That way you would be able to still use a Bessimer style fence and be able to use jigs that straddle the fence. It would also keep from taking up so much room to the right side of the saw. Also, with this fence you can't run the fence on the other side of the blade. Not something I do very often but occasionally it's convenient.

Agree there’s definitely some drawback as you’ve mentioned, however the fence on the SIP saw was just a pain in terms of squareness and dimension that I got to a point that it’s was either change the saw or the fence and this turned out to be just what I was looking for and was prob a lot cheaper 😉

This is a very complicated way of achieving a square cut! Very well made, but I think the intrusion into your workspace is a problem for later projects, but I am very impressed with your dust extraction, that looks very good and efficient, at the price this upgrade costs I will give this a miss, stay safe! Not for everyone Chris, however I got really cheesed off with the original fence that it came down to this or replace the saw! The fence came out a bargain 😂. The space to the right of the saw in my workshop is really a dead space which contains the scraps buckets, dust extraction pipe work and some work steps, yep was a bit of a pain re routing the dust gates etc. but now it’s done. Cheers Steve

@@Phenrica Yes it can be a real pain when you have to check fence alignment every time you make a cut, my Axminster saw seems very robust and keeps square throughout a project, but I do check all the time, I find the sawblade does creep out of vertical after a while( as I notice yours did), and unless it is checked regularly that can cause strange problems, not sure why that changes as it is all made very robustly, and seems to have a good locking system, I think one luxury that we could all do with is a bigger workshop! But as I use my saw outside of the barn due to dust, I suppose I could say my workshop is 10 acres large, but I really would like an extractor like you have, I saw no dust escape from yours at all! Stay safe! Chris B

That looks great Steve. Will you need to do something with your crosscut sled to work with this fence?

Hi unfortunately I’m looking to replace the T saw so the fence will be needed as part of the sale.
