@@mikshawyer5138 wow that is quite remarkable. Because hardly anyone really has heard of him. I thought only Banshees supporters knew him. You know something.. I get mighty sick of people saying that John McGeogh was THE Banshees guitarist and that he was the one to bring a 'sound' to the group. Well guess what kiddies? They are only playing the exact parts that John McKay wrote and struggled for. His guitar sound was so unique that the others never quite got it right. Did they? NO! Long live the King . John McKay: Master and genius of writing songs with finesse and turmoil mixed up with his only self made sounds that no-one else could emulate. I find it very insulting to him hearing all the praise going out to McGeogh not McKay. But of course, Siouxsie wouldn't have it said as they ran away. Well hearing what Sioux and Severin are like to work with, do you blame them? I mean. It had to have been a real, ultra, nasty predicament for the 2 main boys to leave a band they helped build. Now that is a story you can tell your grandkids folks😄 Enjoy McKay's work. I t's as relevant today as it was in 77..😂

Brilliant. great cover. McKay was such an inspiring guitarist. That sound.... I can still remember getting that album for Christmas that year and it changed everything for me. The other album of that year that was big for me (amongst so many others) was Buzzcocks Another Music..those two albums..wow.. but McKay's guitar parts.. and you totally got it..Nice work!

Hi Simon This was done with Bias FX, there’s actually no “modulation effects” used, it’s just a Les Paul through a tube screamer into a threadplate v2 amp sim then EQ”d to “scoop the mids” with a little delay, I think the Les Paul was the thing that helped most as I could’d get this tone with any of my other guitars 👍

Thanks, took a bit of working out that’s for sure, what a player he was ❤️ Do you mean the whole section starting at 2.06 which is a constant drone on the A string and the melody playing along the D string ( and little jump down onto the G)? The end chords are 079990/ 0789 (from top (thickest) string down), hope that helps 👍
