Lyrics Below:
The jewel, the prize
Looking into your eyes
Cool pools drown your mind
What else will you find
I heard a rumor -- it was just a rumor
I heard a rumor -- what have you done to her
Myriad lights -- they said I'd be impressed
Arabian Knights -- at your primitive best
A tourist oasis -- reflects in seedy sunshades
A monstrous oil tanker
Its wound bleeding in seas
I heard a rumor -- what have you done to her
I heard a rumor -- what have you done to her
Veiled behind screens
Kept as your baby machine
Whilst you conquer more orifices
Of boys, goats and things
Ripped out sheep's eyes -- no forks or knives
Myriad lights -- they said I'd be impressed
Arabian Knights -- at your primitive best

The sound of the guitar on this is out of this world. John had a very unique guitar style; like Johnny Marr with effects and a more outside the box way of playing.

Beyond loving this track, what makes me love this videoclip is the way the guys seems to be having fun doing it. I can even imagine the scene... Director: so boys, you'd be the Arabian Kni... They: Lay down, Siouxsie. We toss you... Oh wait, is that a sword? F_ck, this is gonna be a gas...
Very beautiful song! Siouxsie is truly the queen of goth and the priestess of rock...
Que magnetismo tiene esta mujer hermosa, que gran banda y que pedazo de melodía
Those eyes just draw you in, gorgeous
Cracking song. All four of the band at the top of their game here - all bouncing off each other musically...welly lugging....
Brilliant song that doesn't get much airplay these days. I wonder why...?
Everything here is on crack. The music, the dance, the filming, the gaze. Everything
The sword fight is so bad it's hilarious. I think they thought so too
Just pure iconic weirdness my dad showed me this amazing legend when I was so little and her lyrics are imbedded in me :)
John McGeoch guitar work is amazing!!!
I still remember how raw and shambolic they were in the early days of Punk! Siouxsie was always unique and original! What great female artists we had back then. Music seems less exciting and original today, with so much dull auto-tuned urban dance trax!!

I am still left speechless by this song nearly half a century later. If you want truly great women's music the late 70's and early 80's had it: Lene Lovitch, Nina Hagen, Siouxsie Sioux, Kate Bush, kd Lang, Blondie, Chrissie Hynde, Patti Smith and even the original screamer, Yoko Ono, who IMHO had evolved from mere 'screamy' sound scapes to having more good melodic and quirky original songs on 'Double Fantasy' than John did and I still wear Lennon glasses!
