Single Plane vs Dual Plane Manifolds
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Do you know the difference between a Single and Dual Plane intake manifold? Edelbrock is here to clear that up and make sure you have the correct manifold for your application and use.

Great video. Whichever intake I chose, it will likely be worth more than the engine I'm installing it on...

you can add a thin 3/8" open spacer to up power on any dual plane intake
I put on a torquer ll and a holley EFI on top of my built 455 and boy it runs strong
love my rpm air gap for my 427 sbc .ran coolant lines from the back of the intake to the water pump .
I run an open plenum on a small bock Chevy less mid range less mpg but more Top end.. The mid Range my dual plane from a 1966 327 365 HP Corvette is still impressive .. my guess is Edelbrock has improved some on the 1966 design ..
i rally needed to see this now i understand better
On the street, always a good idea to run a dual plane intake.
The thread on 455 efi torquer 2 manifold..the spray of the fuel in the plenum is different than carburetor. Would be great to have a clear composite manifold with colored fog being pulled in to see the distribution of fuel with a liquid to show density
Can you explain why my Edelbrock performer intake does not line up with iron eagle heads? Using 1206 gaskets
I have a edelbrock intake can I use a spacer plate
Single plane is good for boost as well as fuel injection as they both need the flow for it and both use the open plenum to distribute fuel and air better
A tunnel ram gives you both low-mid range torque and high RPM HP.
How about a EFI setup? Will dual or single plane make a big difference or does this only apply to carburetor setups?

If you run our EFI system, it comes with a Single plane. If you decide to downgrade and run a TBI system, then Dual plane would be better.
Ok this changed a couple issues I think. A single plane is a square bore and a dual plane has the jumbo rear throttle plates yes? And yeah a dual plane for the road. Big difference in street rod VS race engine!! Most street rids will never see 6,000 rpm. And street rods aren't running flat out from stop light to stop light.
With cost not being an issue, and hood clearance not a problem. Would the rpm performer be a bad choice for a stock to mild build 350

It would be a good mod for a stock or mild 350

#edelbrock I'm running a stock 440 . But I want to run a can possibly better heads. What carb and manifold should I go with. I use it to Mudd and do snow removal as well as highway.
Hello I have a 1983 cutlass supreme single barrel carburetor and I would like to go with a double barrel can you please let me know which would be a good choice?
I have a dual plane 2131 intake square bore and a brand new holly 4175 spread bore carb I bought a 2692 adapter plate. It looks like it will work but was concerned about the separator vane in the intake as it will no longer separate the barrels. will it perform ok

What’s that have to do with anything ? He mentioned the carb and intake he is using of which that’s what’s his question is about
under 6,500rpm- dual plane 7,000+ single plane

Yup
I purchased 2 different intake manifolds from Edelbrock and had a visual gap at the top of the manifold to the cylinder head port on my aluminum heads I ended up purchasing a brodix Intake manifold and had no visible gap and the ports lined up perfectly. Can Edelbrock explain this problem. No machine shop work was done on engine or cylinder heads

for every vehicle monifold Is there ( renault megane 2 sedan k4m motor ) Give information please
I've got a 78 c60 with a 350. Would a dual plane intake be best? Guy is planning to make a small dump truck out of it

Put a 252 comp cam and a big Pontiac 2 barrel carburetor and it will pull . Good torque!
have 4.8 ls engine rebuilt with nice cam and springs ,pistons are a little bit taller for more compression.not sure if my single plane holly intake and fitech 600 efi .will work .any advice ,maybe a duel plane.
So if you have an four barrel carb you can't use dual plain intake??

OF course it bolts right on. Ea side of the plenum uses 1 primary 1 secondary plate. Better response torque etc They are the way to go on a mild-moderate st strip car.
I have a stock 5.3 Vortec in my 04 Yukon..planning to cam with my first Edelbrock. Already have my cold air and exhaust. What would you recommend for a daily driver looking for some fun?

Keep the cam small. def under 212@050. Too heavy to use a larger rumpity cam trust me on this DOnt get sucked into the lopey bs it will be slower with one
I've embarrassed supercharged latemodep mustang and Corvettes with a dual plane n.a. SBC lol
Either type assumes that a single 4-barrell carb is what you want on a V-8 engine. Regardless of cylinder configuration, most Japanese bikes and European cars use a single-barrel carb for each cylinder or a siamese 2-barrell for 2 cylinders. Eg; a Honda CBX-1000 is a straight 6 with 6 carbs while a Lambourghini Miura is a V-12 with 6 Webbers. On an American V-8, this would be 4 Webbers, either down or side-draft. We've all seen the occasional Chevy or Ford with them, but how does that compare with what's seen here?

Great info. pls teach or show us how to make dual plane air intake for japanese cars.ty

I got to the Air Gap for my 468 with square port the heads have been ported and polished I used the intake gasket I'm going to use and ported the intake to match the heads .I opened the intake up a lot the blended it in to polished! I will be running a 640 lift hydraulic roller cam and got about 12 thousand of a dime pistons! I expect to make some serious power and run a fully manual shift 4l80e transmission!
so with all that info, a tunnel ram should give better LOW end power than both options. Yet everyone you ask says the are only good on the high rpm side.

Well they are wrong. A good dual plane is pretty good for low end tq tough to beat.
This guy's voice sounds just like James Woods.
anyone know the thread size of the temp sensors?
Anyone running a Paxton or Vortech supercharger Single plane in the only option.
