    Because all those things that you’ve listed are extreme basics? You should learn your 3 turns, edges and crossover before even attempting a waltz (3 jump) let alone a salchow

    I can do all the standard entrances (the ones in the video) but sometimes I'll do backwards crossovers, hold the inside edge and then jump when I feel like it's normal. Instead of doing any turns as a setup this lets you gain a lot of speed and not waste any of it.

    Thanks for your video. Can you please show some more of it being done from a backwards outside right edge into a left three turn. The mowhawk into it is confusing. A lot of videos I’ve seen is to swing your free leg around where as I’ve been taught to gently slice your right leg past your left three turn then whip it around. I can’t find many videos of single sals. I’m on to lutz jumps however I’m being told to go over previous jumps to make them cleaner. Many thanks

    1) Put ALL your weight on the spinning leg to not getting unbalanced. 2) And do a REAL 3turn for the entry (not with flat outside edge, weak arms or others mistakes). AND your spin will be centered.

  • @edmundgeswein

    @edmundgeswein

    7 жыл бұрын

    CanisLupus1987 If the take off skate glides backward then briefly stops and pivots before getting into the air it is a Salchow, but if the skate three turns and there is a forward glide before the jump, then it is an axel with a three turn set up (which is becoming more common now days with the new scoring system).

    I keep having my non-landing foot go on the side instead of in front like a back spin, it goes on the side like with my foot next to my knee, and it does this for my axel and my dounle salchow (still havent done a double toe yet or any other doubles). Now my axel is very consistant and completely rotated but my double salchow is pretty recent and not very consistent because sometimes its under rotated. Now how can i get my foot/leg in place. I find it really annoying because whenever i try i never land it or completely rotate it and thats for my axel and double salchow, please help

    is your right foot (free foot) allowed to skim the ice when you launch up into a sal? i always wonder about this; i feel like keeping my free foot off the ice causes my leg to swing too much and it makes me lose balance. it's a lot easier if i let my right foot touch the ice so i can control my jump but i don't know if that's proper technique.

  • @estelasworld721

    @estelasworld721

    black-and-yellow-roses No, your skate can NEVER touch the ice. If it does, you lose speed because your blade is touching the ice, which your toe pick goes first if you put your foot down.
