What a great, challenging warm-up! I was so relieved when that long exercise was over, and then you looked at the camera and said, "let's do that one again". I laughed out loud!

Jeff, this is a great warm up exercise. I really like your videos and style. My only frustration with some of them is that I forget at times what vowel sounds we are doing, and trying to concentrate on that, I find my technique suffers. I realize that for the lady parts, it is too high for you to sing along the whole way. But for older students, (I'm 62), with health issues, this is hard. Any chance that you might be able to type the vowel sounds we are working on up on the screen as a reminder for us challenged students? Thanks, Claudia Nash

Jeff, in future videos could you add the "lyrics" on the screen. I confused about what order I should be singing the vowels in.

Thank you very much for this warm up, love your videos! :) I have a question - I can't really sing much higher in my chest voice than D5, but in the second last exercise, you went up to an A5! Am I supposed to stop singing at D5 or flip into head voice? Or try to mix, which I didn't succeed in yet? This question also applies to other videos where I can't sing as high as I "should" in an exercise, I always wondered what I am supposed to do when that happens

Thanks for your kind words and thanks for your question! Yes, the idea is to make a smooth transition across your secondo passaggio, which, as a mezzo would generally be right around e-flat 5 and keep going! This would mean being able to use your cricothyroid dominant singing voice, commonly thought of as 'head voice'. Great question! Best, Jeff
