    OMG I heard this song and I teared up! My parents took me and my sister for a surprise vacation to Cape Cod many years ago. My dad is an oldie and loves to sing. He sang this song to us the whole week. It was the only week long vacation we had as kids as our parents couldn't afford such vacations. We only got to go because Cape Cod is in or state, and we were friends with the people who rented their cape cod house, and they had an uncbooked week, and gave it to us, and my uncle Joe (who has since passed away) and my grandparents paid for most of the other expenses. Thank you for reminding me of such a beautiful memory, I am so going to show this vid to my dad. Thank You!!!!!

  • @j.g.3453
    @j.g.34535 жыл бұрын

    "Voices change over time". Absolutely. I sang up in the soprano range as a child, and even into my tweens, but when I hit 14, my voice dropped. Like, my voice dropped more drastically than my brother's did. It was really hard to adjust to. At 20, I caught some kind of throat infection, lost my voice entirely for a week, and lost my ability to hit notes reliably for a decade. In my mid 30's, I'm finally getting it back, and tend to be most comfortable in a low alto type range (Elton John has become really easy to sing along to). It's been a major adjustment, but really, I'm just happy to be feeling comfortable with my voice again.

    For a nine year old you were singing great back then. And I'm a bit jealous that they gave you sheet music and you were able to do something with it. I'm nearly sixteen and I can't work with them. I can't read notes and I've been in musical groups since I'm 5... I hit the notes and learn songs faster than others, so that makes up for it.

    I think there's something very touching when you witness a glimpse of a childhood like that. Like sometimes, I feel like it was a total different world, a different life, all these childhood memories I have, like they are not real. The dreams I had, the inspirations I had, where I am today, what I've gone through... Young Malinda was giving all her heart out for this song, she wanted this so bad, she worked so hard. And look where she is today. Good job, young Malinda, and good job, "old" Malinda!

Your voice is young and sweet and you can tell you have a beautiful voice. The microphone and recording device probably picked up half of your voice too. You have really grown in to a beautiful Jazz voice.
