Dimash did not win the contest!!!! He came in 2nd place!!! However he won so much more with the career that came from his appearance in The Singer. Your reactions to Dimash are my favorite and I have watched them over and over ...I never tire of these reactions on this incredible journey with you!!! When Dimash performed "Give Me Love", at the Gala, it had not yet been released and he sung it in his native language. The contest was over so he did not have to put on a show here. Yes it was disappointing that he did not win. I really don't know how they judged the competition.But I am happy overall because he gained an overnight popularity all around the world. I personally am not disappointed that Dimash did not win. Maybe at first I was but if he had won his contract may have tied him to The Singer for whatever period of time. As it turned out he was free to pursue his dream without any restrictions from the show. It all worked like it should have.

I am confused by your reply. What I hear them saying is that Dimash won the Twitter poll and they need links to other performances other than The Singer songs... They want new live performances that they have not seen.

Diane, your very first comment, telling MAP that Di did not win "the contest" (which I thought they already knew) referred to the Singer, but I thought the contest they referred to as Dimash winning was the Twitter poll. (I also see a typo - I meant to say, "not Dimash ON the Singer.") Maybe that clears it up? Or maybe not. Sorry!

I "met" Dimash with this song almost two years ago, a friend of mine sent me an audio of this song "Mahabbat Ber Magan" just with the name of the song and recommended that I listen to it with headphones. That song hadn't any very high notes, no big beltings, no riffs' n runs, and not even a single whistle note. It was just Dimash with THAT VOICE completely giving his heart away in his first big concert "Bastau" in Astana. I didn't understand a single word and before reaching a third of the song my eyes had tears and goosebumps running all over my body. At the end I was crying like a little girl and I was 50. At that time I did not know his name, or in what language he was singing, much less his physical appearance intrigued me. Rather I envisioned a middle-aged man singing some old exotic sad song perhaps with some modern arrangement. Then the next day my friend send me the link to the video of "SOS..." And of course the rest is history. For me Dimash is unmatched, not even remotely by any other singer in history, they just can't come close to him and I'm including all the greatest singers even Yma Sumac.
