It’s hard to grasp every detail with the translation. There’s a lot of puns and wordplay. So for Shakira to make a diss song like this it is because his cruelty and cynicism have been beyond any limits. She’s had a tough 2022 with her father falling very ill, having this lawsuit with the Spanish IRS and in the middle of all these, she discovers he’s having a full-blown affair for months and he’s leaving her despite everything she was going through adding insult to injury. When it was announced that she was releasing a song with bzrp, it was expected some beef. But she totally nuked him. More power to her, there’s no way to deny he deserves it.

There’s a line that says “yo solo hago musica, perdon que te salPIQUE” which translates to, “I only make music, sorry if it splashes you.” It makes more sense in Spanish, and the last part of the Spanish word for Splashes sounds exactly like his name, she even pauses: Sal-Pique. She also named the mistress. Her name is Clara. Clara is the Spanish word for “clear” as well. There’s a line that goes, “tiene nombre de persona buena, CLARA-mente, no es como suena,” which translates to, “they have the name of a good person, CLEAR-ly, it’s not like it sounds.” So many layers, there’s so much more. She’s a genius.

I agree that a TON was lost in translation but the song was so incredibly well-written that even people that don't speak Spanish understand so much of it.. that's a testament to the artists. Lets not forget that she literally NAMES her in the song 'Clara-mente' ... so badass lol

I think she mentions Clara (Piquet's girlfriend) comparing with Saint Clara. She has a name of a good person...

Their names are lost in translation but she called them out directly. Her ex is named Pique which is why she says Sal-Pique which translates to splashed and his mistresses name is Clara which is why she enunciated Clara-mente which translates to clearly.

She killed this. When she flashed the 2/2 which is both of their birthdays and he used to do this when he scored dedicating them to her. Savage. 10/10

She was the bread winner. His finances didn't then and don't now stand a chance. He was jealous of her attention warranted even when she didn't solicited it. She was well connected...and...him...well... a grown child with little regards to boundaries. At the beginning of their relationship she gave up her music career to cater to him first and then their children. Loyal. She forgave him once for the first infidelity. With that being said, after she discovered the second affair, she left him. After leaving him she learned that he was swimming in the waters of many oceans, many, many more than the two she knew of. As for the finance problem...she was released of that. Now, they are learning that he mishandled money....not her. Something that is also very important to understand the "Clara-mente" references, is this: She says Clara has the name of someone who must be a good person, because Clara's translation and context is not only "clear", it is also luminous and in the context of a name it can also mean "light bringer" or someone who "brightens up the place". So she is not only calling her by name, she is taking a very direct swing at her character by saying it CLEARLY (Claramente) is not as it seems. So basically she said all this in just one sentence that has at least three different meanings at the same time.

The treasury line references Spain charging her for tax fraud stating between 2012 and 2014 she was living as a resident of Spain but claiming residency outside of Spain. She is due to go trial to dispute the charges. At that time her relationship with Pique was still relatively new and she was trying to close the distance with him, bouncing between Spain, home, and touring.

And the issue is also that she only moved to Spain because Piqué wanted to raise a family with her and he wanted them full time in Spain while he played there. Legal cases in Spain take a very long time to be resolved. The Spanish Treasury wants to set an example with her and want her to pay tens of millions of dollars in penalties

Much harder to write it down is the explanation around "clearly". As somebody said here... 'clear' means 'Clara'... and it's, of course, a nice name... 'clearly' translates into 'claramente'. IF Spain has proper claim to her residency from that time then yes she'll have to pay. We still have to wait until the trial and hear what her lawyers have to say in dispute to know for sure if the charges are valid. Her bringing it up in the song stems from Pique dismissing her sacrifices, just leaving her to deal with it on her own when it was for him that she was even bouncing between Spain and her tours to begin with.
