Hi, what a beautiful machine. Can you please give any tips on how you painted the machine? I’m working on a 1922 66 that will need to be painted if I’m successful getting her unfrozen. Thanks for any info you’d be willing to share.

Hi, Let me start off to say that it is a lot of work. First removing the paint. I used both paint remover and heat. As the Singer paint has a mixture of tar in it. LOL....seriously. After you get the paint off, clean all the oils etc off with denatured Alkohol. Primer and several coats of paint from a rattle can, spray paint. Then Shellac. It is a long process. But worth it

Thanks so much! If I can get her main shaft moving again I’m willing to try. I’ve already got her outside down to solid black, just taking my time trying to learn as I go. Thanks again!

@@jodiepotter6029 two things, maybe 3. Make sure you have oiled the entire machine wherever metal meets metal. Lots of oil, be generous. Make sire the needle bar gets plenty of oil too. Use percussive persuasion. Through the back of the machine, place a screw driver on the u shaped part of the shaft, tap tap with a mallet....good luck
