    Thank you so much for your help with this video! I realised I booked the wrong flights when booking my flights through Singapore. I booked two different airlines going in and going out and then found out I can’t transit between them without having to enter the country first (and go through this entire process)! So I’ve decided I may as well spend a couple of days in Singapore. I was feeling completely overwhelmed by what I needed to do though and this helped so much.

    I love Singapore, cant wait to go back. But with covid testing, checking in, checking in at shops. I dont think i would enjoy it as much. Hopefully we can realise its just something that we need to accept and get on with life and we can travel freely in the near future.

    Thanks for the info. I lived in Singapore for three years and did a lot of traveling. I enjoyed the ease of entering and leaving the country. The VTL experience is just too restrictive for me to enjoy. I need to get there, but I'm going to wait three months as restrictions continue to ease.

    I’ll be transiting in Singapore to Bangkok, both flights on Singapore Airlines from Seattle. I don’t leave until September 1, and have been following closely the requirements in Thailand and how many expect Thailand to be fully open by July (if no Covid surges). I have not been following Singapore and Covid requirements there, except that it would be better to transit there instead of Taiwan or Hong Kong. With the unpredictability of Covid, I doubt if I’ll start worrying about transiting through Singapore until June. All I really have to do before then is apply for a 60 day Thai visa.

    How would this process work traveling from SFO if you wanted to stay, say, for only a week? Would it even be possible to go out and explore the city since it appears you have to take a Covid test most days the first week? Or would you have to quarantine for that entire time?

    I just booked my flight and from what I’ve read you they lifted some of the Covid test mandatory now, you don’t even need to do the PCR test right after you landed in Singapore only requires antigen test which is the self testing kit then you upload the result within 24hrs

    Wow, you are so pretty. Sorry, now that’s out of the way, I’m going to be heading to Thailand from LAX in may and I have connections in Singapore at Changi. I’ll be staying in Thailand for about 3 weeks, then returning to the US with another connection at Changi. I’m using Singapore airlines both ways, and following the guidelines for traveling to Thailand but having a layover at Changi on my return flight I’m curious if I’ll be able to enter Singapore during my layover. Really, I just want to be able to set foot on Singapore soil and then I can say I’ve been there and I can get my shot glass. Is it even worth it trying to enter Singapore if I only have about 8 hours layover there? I have the medical insurance, I’ll have had all the testing and such but I noticed you said you have to rtpcr test and wait to go anywhere? I’m curious if my rtpcr test that I will take in Thailand before departing will work for that. 🤔 any suggestions?

Can I book it on another travel website like Expedia? Thanks!

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi! Yes, when I booked the test at the SFO airport, I had to pay but I just wanted to be safe than sorry and be able to get my test results in time since walgreens/my local testing site where I usually get my tests for free have a long waiting period to get results back(3-5days!) You also don’t have to buy it on the singapore website. If you find the same VTL flight on expedia/priceline for cheaper then def book it, but just make sure the flight you are buying is a VTL flight! I just recommend people buying through Singapore Airline’s website since it will say which flights are VTL and it will be easier for people. Hope this makes sense! @@linhforthehuynh Hi Linh. Thank you so much for answering my questions. Can I ask you a few more questions? 1. Do you think I can book the flight first before applying for the vaccinated travel pass? I plan to travel to Singapore in June. But I would like to book the tickets earlier to secure my flight schedule and fares. 2. Was the application of travel pass smooth and easy? For the vaccine QR code, was it just simply upload it from a screen capture? 3. At last, did you book your accommodation in Singapore from the VTL's non-exhaustive list? Thank you🙏

  • @linhforthehuynh

    @linhforthehuynh

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@waiyeeko6661 hi! Yes, you can secure the flight first, that is what I did :) The application was easy and straight forward from what I remembered. As long as all your information was correct and you secured all the documents/housing/info, the application was quick. For QR code, I just uploaded the pdf/png document I downloaded from the site! I believe screen capture should work too. For your last question, I booked a hotel on the list! At least for the first night/day because from my experience, hotels are strict if you are on VTL. They want to make sure you are in your own room with your own bathroom and dont leave until your test results come back. I booked a budget hotel with my own bathroom for the first night then switched to an apartment hotel for the next week since my friends wanted to share a place together. When I switched accommodations, I just updated that info when I had to book for a supervised test. Hope this all makes sense!

    You can buy home test kits at the local store in your area before your flight. However, I found test kits in singapore to be so much cheaper from stores like Watsons. I felt Immigration was a breeze. As long as your documents are in order and all your information matches such as passport number, your name, etc. It should be fine. I had no problems and it was quick! Once you get off the plane, I recommend going to the bathroom near the gates BEFORE immigration. After immigration, they rush you to get your bags, take your test and get a taxi. I arrived around 6am in singapore and I dont think there were other major flights so there was no lines for a taxi. Yes! All covid tests you have to pay yourself there. On arrival PCR covid test was about $125sgd/$95usd for the first day, covid test at quick testing center is about $11usd each, and self administered covid tests depends on where you get it from. I got mine at CVS in the states and it was $52usd for 4 tests but when I went to singapore, I saw some at Watsons for so much cheaper!! About $3.75usd/$5sgd each so might be worth it to buy covid tests there

    It will vary depending on state. I attached a link of where to get the QR Codes for California residents in the description box, but I noticed some states might not give QR codes to their residents. From the Safe Travels website, it says you might have to get a signed letter from a health provider proving you are vaccinated if your states does not provide QR codes. “Physical vaccination record and a letter signed by the state, local health authority or vaccination provider to attest to the passenger’s vaccination status. The attestation letter should contain: the passenger’s name and at least one other personal identifier such as the date of birth or passport number corresponding exactly with the information in the passenger’s passport used for entry into Singapore; the name of the vaccine administered for each dose; and the date when each dose was administered.” I recommend going to the Safe Travels checklist link I provided in the description box for more detailed info :) let me know if you have more questions
