Everything is majestic in Singapore. I just hope they will keep it as it is. We lived in Singapore from 2006 to 2010 and it was a lovely time. Our son was born there. It is so safe, with no trash literally. No homeless, little to no crime. There are some problems but they are everywhere. It is the best city for families, for working families. You have to work there to have a decent life.

just to clarify a misconception here. Singapore is tough on drugs, true. But by drugs we mean narcotics such as heroin, cocaine, meth, etc. It's totally fine to bring your medication into Singapore. But if it's cannabis based then it might be problematic, in which case best to bring a prescription for that.

Alina, thank you for your positive live streams chat on Singapore. Welcome back😄 You are streaming from the financial hub of Singapore, which is Raffles Place. Its super busy from Monday-Friday during work week. Yes, car and home ownership (even public housing) can be really expensive here. Personally, i think for a small city state with great connectivity and inexpensive public transport system, there is no real need for a car. Together with the Certificate of Entitlement which costs almost S$100K, total cost of a brand new mid range car would be almost S$200K. Yes the humidity here is high, even we locals could only wish for cooler climate. Not surprised that the structure of Marina Bay Sands found its way in Chongqing. China is known to replicate cities or structures from all over the world. Yes, there are fines for littering and chewy gums but as far as we are aware, none has been fined unless there are blatant litterings. Drugs are viewed harshly here and the punishment is severe, resulting in death if convicted. On the plus side, you dont get to see druggists all over the country, helping to keep the city safe. Migrant workers and domestic helpers are provided with food and lodging by their employers. Orchard Road is the shopping hub for tourists. Super expensive with high end brand retailers. Hope you have a wonderful time here Alina. Awww, so sad you leaving us in Asia but also happy that you are going home, to be with family and friends. Thank you for showing us to the world. Bon voyage. Looking forward to your coverage of the other parts of the world which would be fun and exciting too. Take care and good speed🫶

Severe punishment resulting in death penalty for drug traffickers is not only in Singapore but almost in all South East Asia. If you remembered what happened in 2015, the "BALI 9" was on the headline news.... the Ringleaders were sentenced to death and executed in April 2015.

When you said "i know I will miss Southeast Asia .... when I leave I don't know when I'm gonna be back" it hits a nerve for me becoz I've been living in Asia nearly my entire life. I'm moving to Toronto in the near future, and I've been having that feeling; I'm going to miss the things in Singapore, and being close to the other Southeast Asian countries. On top of that, I'm going to be so far away from my paternal cousins that I grew up with, but finally spending more time with my maternal cousins in Toronto and getting to know them better.

Hi Alina, Thank You for Your walk and talk! Regarding Your Questions about MacBook Pro. I use the 15" version since I started video editing in 2015. I choose it because: - it works well together with the iPhone. I am able to synchronize photos and also airdrop contents between the MacBook and the iPhone. - For video editing, I bought Final Cut Pro X once back then and still can use the current version on the 2022 M2 Mac Book Pro, which I bought one year ago. - For Final Cut Pro, no subscription fee is needed. So, if You add the price for hardware and software, the price for the MacBook Pro is competitive. Unfortunately I guess, if You are editing on Windows, You are on Adobe Premiere. I decided against Premiere because of the monthly fees. Best Regards, Ralf

When the weather cools down and be downright chilly, head to Africa from the top down: Egypt, Senegal, Kenya, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa. That will cover the whole winter season, and Africa is a really nice continent of contrast.

Many people are just not prepared for the hot and humid weather in Singapore. The locals hop from aircon place to the next aircon place via airconditioned cars, buses or trains. Need to drink lots of water, constantly, to keep hydrated. Don’t be afraid to drink as there are easy access to toilets at all public places. Better still, take in one of the many isotonic drinks to hydrate. There are canned drinks like 100+ or we call it “Hundred Plus”, H-Two-O, Pocari Sweat available from shops, convenience stores and supermarkets. In the old days before we had this type of drinks, a favourite habit is to sprinkle salt into your iced coca-cola. Every coffeeshop or foodcourt operator worth his salt will have a little bottle of salt available at the service counter.

Yes, downtown is financial district and not interesting unless connected to the industry. Best to do the zoo in Mandai or go to Sentosa in the day and do the restaurants and clubs in the evenings. As you may have heard from Alina, she mentioned several times that it’s hot and humid in Singapore. The locals just like all others who live on and near the equator, will not go out in the sun unless there are no other choices. As been described before: "Only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun". Always have a collapsible UV-protection umbrella handy. While Alina chose to walk on the sidewalk on Orchard Road, just across the road, there are indoor connections between shopping areas in the buildings. From Somerset MRT Station (Orchard Central & Orchard Gateway) to Orchard MRT Station (Ngee Ann & Takashimaya to Ion Orchard and all around the Scotts Road junction) there are covered and underground walking access through ways with just one interruption midway. Just to mention that Raffles City has covered walking connections to Marina Square and SUNTEC City area.

The average cost of education in Singapore is SGD 25,000 to 40,000 for a three-year course. The public universities charge low tuition fees than private universities. The average fees at public universities may range between $8200 to $9600 per year. More expensive for foreigners All Singaporean Citizens are entitled to free primary school education in Singapore. Parents will only need to pay a monthly miscellaneous fee (that goes to the school's operating budget) of between $6.50 - $13, depending on the school's needs.

When I was in NYC, I kept hearing sirens from cop and fire engine every now and then. I thought it was really like what I thought only exist in the movies. By the way, Singapore has 2 casinos. The other being Genting in Sentosa. The other vice that is legal in Singapore is prostitution. It is mainly in the Geylang area.

Try Hoka running shoes. Trust me you won't be sorry. They are rugged but you will be walking on air. They are a bit more expensive but worth every penny. Didn't get to stick around for the whole stream. Will get the rerun later on. Stay beautiful❤💙💛❤

Chewing gum is allowed! You just have difficulty buying it in Singapore. Some Singaporeans go to Malaysia to buy chewing gum and consume it in Singapore.

And you're absolutely right about Canada, their "Criminals do crime not because of their own fault, but because of society's fault" ideology is one of the key reasons why the rate of crime is increasing. This belief that no punishment for crimes will make criminals better makes living there very risky now
