Singapore Fresh Pepper Crab | Gu Ma Jia Private Kitchen
Crab dishes are very popular in Singapore especially when eating in a group cos its a dish meant to be shared. Its a dish that you definitely need to try if you come and visit Singapore
In this video we take a look how does a Chinese restaurant, Gu Ma Jia, whip out 2 delicious crab dishes and tried some of their recommended dishes off their menu that includes their award winning Assam Curry Fish Head
Gu Ma Jia Is a Singapore Chinese restaurant whos dedication and passion for creating delectable home-cooked dishes won them the Food Fest Top 10 Favourite Restaurants for 2 consecutive years in 2010 and 2013
The founder affectionately known as Gu Ma is a cute friendly lady who love to share tips on cooking and is very resourceful!
Take note Crab dishes will need to order at least 1 day in advance for they are flown live to Singapore for maximum freshness

Of all the crab tear-down preparation videos I’ve seen from all over the world, this has got to be one of the most skilled, quick and efficient processes I’ve ever seen - it’s quite an art! And I’m so proud that it’s coming from my very own county: Singapore! 🇸🇬

yeah, sri lanka crabs have the meatiest claws out of all the crabs in the world, if you like eating crab claws, there can be no better choice.

@@esqandardan idk but i been researching HOW to dispatch these species without much pain. Thing is we dont how the feel when knife goes in their stomach. Then theres boiling seafood alive. Lots of researches said they feel pain. The bottomline is i wouldnt ever wana be part of this. 😬 just for a bit of taste. When theres not even enough meat in the poor crabs.

yes, the heart can beat for minutes after the brain is dead, in fact it can beat for years if the body is assisted. we are not much more than machines, the whole idea of a "soul" is wishful thinking. but we know the crab was gone long before the heart stopped beating, no suffering.

I have never seen such a nice clean professional way of cleaning cutting in to pieces and preparing the crab anywhere in the world specially the big local seafood shops anywhere in the west we buy our seafoods it’s always half heartedly cleaned and looks like they don’t have any idea of what and how to do professionally with crab pieces excellent job and cooking must be yum yum yummy in want to cook exactly the same way .

Basically we people from Assam don't use coconut juice to make curry. We use different types of herbs, vegetables and water to make curry.you can find these recipes on KZread..just search for Assamese food recipe 👍

Tamarind...yes you finally got the name 😀 in our local language I mean in Assam, tamarind is known as TETELI TENGA in Assamese language. We use to make pickle from it, we use to add tamarind in curry and also we use to eat ripe tamarind with a little bit of salt and green chilly during free time. 😊😊😊😊😊😊

Better still if he had not omitted the cornflour stage. Lightly coating the crab in cornflour, the quickly frying BEFORE adding the crab to the butter-yolk sauce, allows the sauce to stick better to the shell. They often do that in Singapore, not sure why this guy didn’t.
