    I particularly liked the point that you made about not having rigidly to adopt the chamber position at the end of every three strokes. That was a reassuring thing to hear and made such regimentation a thing of the past, after a drill has been learned. Fluidity instead of rigidity...very nice.

    Pralay train more and keep training. Put focus into the left hand. If need, isolate the left hand with previous single stick drills.

    Hey, Kali Centre...I wish I could get whistling units to attach to the unheld end of my sticks - that would be a great sound, while training, and it'd be fun, too, of course. They'd have to be pretty tough little units (sticks impact), but it could be done, I think. They would look great if it had "Kali Centre" on the little whistle units, too! :) It would also put burglars off staying in our homes!!!

    Quick question about chamber height. Does it change for different drills? I see some are right under the arm pit and this great lesson at the hip. If this could be cleared up please. Awesome video as always.

  • @kalicenter

    @kalicenter

    Glen Jones it shouldn’t change. The sticks are just training tools for the blade. If the chamber is too high you risk filleting your triceps or clipping your elbow. Plus you then don’t get the protection of the diagonal strikes.

    Interesting twist. I've done Standard 6 from a number of instructors and all have the uppercut strike as staying at the low line (knee level...aka "Earth") and that was my understanding as to why it is called "Standard" 6 because you have a Heaven-Earth-Heaven strike for each side but the Earth is still an uppercut motion just on the low line not mid to hi line as you did? Not saying what your doing is wrong by any means I've just not seen it done that way? But like many things and ESPECIALLY in the Martial Arts there are often more than 1 path and more than one "truth" ;)

    The 2nd and 5th strikes can be applied to cover the knee, elbow or high line. We don’t use a horizontal in this pattern here like many do. We have found the diagonal protects low to high whether on offense or counter. 👍🏻⚔️

    @@kalicenter Yes, that makes sense. I don't do it as a horizontal either but rather a downward diagonal to the knee as opposed to an upward diagonal but I realize all are valid. Just hadn't seen your way but that's why I never quit learning :)
