    Great tutorial for a game that I own, but until now, hadn't fully understood how to play. Thanks so much Mike!

    I sold this game long ago for the reason stated in the video. As a game it was not easily understood by guests and ultimately no one played it. It even became too deep that if I wasn't making progress deep into the game it wasn't as fun for me. I'm a better player now and this video does make me regret ever selling it. Still one of Stern's best games.

    Hector, thanks for the kind words. I have made these for that reason exactly. There's a lot to enjoy about pinball, but I always find it at its best when you can understand what you're doing. You get to feel the progress and play with a purpose. Sadly not all games are easy to understand out the gate and sometimes they need to be explained to help get the grasp of how to get the most out of a game. ENJOY!

    @@Stanassasin Awesome man.. Yea, learning some rules on Simpsons makes ALL the difference. The EBs will come with time... there's a lot of them in there since the game is so deep. Keep at it and you'll keep making progress. Pick a single goal to go for that instead of score sometimes too, I find that helps me understand it and remember the rules over time. Good luck!

    Did this game always have a color display? I thought it only had a monochrome display like almost every pinball with a dot matrix display. I played it at Center Parcs as a teenager and I’m sure the display was monochrome. However, I played it at a retro event this weekend and I noticed the color display! Also the Comic Book Guy and Bart were replaced by World of Springfield figures of those characters. They also added a World of Springfield Krusty and figures of astronaut Itchy and Scratchy from The Simpsons Movie!

  • @McSirTuna

    @McSirTuna

    4 жыл бұрын

    So you’re correct. The color display is an add on called ColorDMD. They’ve gone through and colorized many of the monochrome DMDs of a lot of different displays. It looks great in the Simpsons, they did a great job.

    So, I finally got the number one high score at our local pub. At some point balls were shooting out at me at a super fast rate for a super long time. The catch was, each flipper button was operating the opposite flipper so, it as really tough. What is that mode called and how the heck did it happen!?

  • @McSirTuna

    @McSirTuna

    4 жыл бұрын

    Moe Cowbell So what happened is that you started the Springfield Mystery Spot. That is done by running through all 10 of the Otto Bus Tour 2x multipliers. Once again, that’s light it with the Light Otto largest at the left pop bumper and then right loop behind homers head. Run through all 10 and you can start Mystery Spot with one more shot to the Otto Loop. MS a 5 ball reverse flipper multi ball. Completing Mystery Spot (getting the Super Jackpot) is one of the 6 Wizard Mode goals. Congrats on the top score!! Next time you’ll be ready for Mystery Spot!

    If you go in the left inlane it will activate 3x scoring for krusty's, and then 4x scoring if you hit him and go back to the left inlane.

    Your machine has different features than mine. I have no yellow "Otto" bus or Duff's can in the upper right playfield and my backglass screen is all just dot matrix in orange dots- no color images. I've had my machine for about 14 years and got it new at the time. Is this a re-release of this machine or a different version?

  • @McSirTuna

    @McSirTuna

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hey Andrew, sorry for the late reply, but my machine has a handful of mods on it over the years i've owned it. The dot matrix has a ColorDMD in it which adds color to the display. The other items were bought from various mod companies / people. Some are better than others. There's a lot of places you can get extras that people make to spice up a game. Thanks for watching.

    Scared Stiff is fun and really funny but pretty easy to get through. Simpsons offers a lot more to do in the long run but isn't as fun to shoot IMO.

  • @McSirTuna

    If you're offering ME a Scared Stiff for my simpsons, i've already sold my simpsons. If you're asking if YOU should make that trade, Kevin is correct, Simpsons offers a LOT more gameplay, but if you're into more simple gameplay and less depth, Scared Stiff is a fun game. Honestly both are good for very different reasons. THANKS!

    bret buckingham hey Bret, thanks for watching. Www.colordmd.com. They have been making replacement DMDs with colorization for older games for awhile. You’ll have to decide between LED or LCD. LCD would offer the blending effects you see in the video, LED is more traditional and would be a bit brighter. Any choice is great, just personal preference

    Is there an ending to this game like once you complete all the modes dose it say congratulations you win?

  • @McSirTuna

    @McSirTuna

    So, sadly I can't fully answer that as I've never gotten to the final wizard mode myself. But under most circumstances, most games don't end once you complete the main objective. Although, some games actually do (Total Nuclear Annihilation) end when you reach the end. One day I'll get there though.

    Great question: So under standard rules you begin with all 3 couch locks ready. After playing the multiball once, you need to qualify your locks for any future multiball. On the upper play field there are 2 targets for LIGHT and LOCK, hitting these will qualify your locks. The rules to qualify locks gets tougher with each following multiball. Good luck and thanks for asking!
