A new coach this year or even next is unlikely to survive the rebuild. Simmo is now Kevin Sheedy soaking up losses so our future Leon Cameron can take over in 2026 and compete for premierships in 2028 and 2029. Wasting Gov and especially Barrass for the next couple of years isn't ideal -- Barrass would be a good candidate for a trade.

I am sorry Simmo that you have been treated so badly..Media has a lot to answer for.. 🙁

You would think that AFL standard players would be able do the “basics” already maybe we should be pointing the finger at the recruitment team that pick these players that aren’t up to the standard!

I couldn't agree more. Everything Simmo says about doing the basics right I cringe as this is meant to be an AFL team. Individual players wouldn't of played seconds unless they knew how to land a tackle or pass a ball fairly accurately.

Definitely an improvement, the 1st quarter was what built the win, only lost by 17 for the last 4 quarters. Let Simmo see out his contract, great that Simmo has a consistent message, a shame the media can't read the media like they expect him to, would save a lot of rehashing n maybe just maybe they could ask a valid question Have to play the kids though

I think healthwise he looks basically fine, pressure is pressure.

As a north supporter I can say what will work. You can’t drill system system system into a shit side. They run around over thinking the game and turn into witches hats against better sides. North only finally turned it around after the bye by focussing on the contest. Drop the system “piece” as your primary focus and prioritise pressure and making it impossible for the opposition to get an easy possession.

He looks cooked, needs to be paid out so he can get another Hungry Jacks franchise

@anthonylynch4737 after 7 wins in 3 years dont you question how long a "rebuild" should take? What's this year 3? How long do you think.a coach should be given to "rebuild a squad? 5 year? 6?

3 years into the so-called "rebuild" and Simmo is talking about the need to teach players the basics of the game? Do we need any more evidence than the last two games to prove that this club isn't improving at all, but getting worse? This team will be a continual AFL basket-case until Simmo is replaced and the culture of the club fundamentally changed.

The head hunt is ramping up and I understand why, but I think if it comes to that more than his head should go . The team selection is a joke ! Just one example out of many available - Why play Jones forward, he looks out of place, but he did ok breaking lines down back before which is something they are really missing ! Then there are the line coaches , lets be honest they play a pivotal role and ALL of them are getting made to look foolish week in , week out. A positive , young mid recruit Hutchy is looking ok , he has a great tank and competes well and someone tell Harley to stop putting his hands up when he doesn't get a free and continue to compete !

Time For New A Voice/Coach, Don Justin Julie Bishop! Do What's Needed For The Club & Do It Now Not Whenever. Like Hardwick Said Time To Grow The F😲! Up & Do It.

Mate he clearly knows footy, and his execution of the web a couple of years back shows that he can do the job and win premierships. Also, the fact that he can hold a level head and get emotional is a strength for a club in this position. If he is doing his best how about pointing the finger at the players (if you have to point your fingers anywhere).

@@raceyy Fully aware. Senior players on huge coin havent delivered for years. However, that happens when you dont hold players to account. The players rule the place & thats because of Simpson's inability to hold senior players to a standard of performance. Simpson has let that fester both pre the 18GF & since. The club is a basket case. I've watched for years supposed big coin players jog around with zero intent. Includes: Shuey, Yeo, Sheed, Gaff, McGovern, Barrass, Ryan, Darling, Cripps, Duggo, Kelly etc etc etc....UNACCEPTABLE Then there's the complete lack of youth development. Then there's Rioli shafting the club when he should of got the boot. The culture is absurd. It's a love in & lifestyle fund.

Keep Simmo ! Don’t believe a new coach is going to result in more wins. We have to stay the course, it’s a rebuild and a progression. We need more depth midfield. Have to look at the trade. English and Baker have to be a priority. And possibly Warner the following draft.

Of the starting 22 today, 16 are 25+, 10 are 27+ Those numbers are higher than Sydney. Because of the match selections the rebuild hasn’t even started yet. Looks like a coach trying to save his job rather than rebuild.

Accusing the players of "bruise-free" and then the coach as "nice" seems like they'd go hand in hand. Not sure how you see "nice" as a desirable quality in the leadership, and why you'd assume being "nice" would lead to more ruthless efforts?
