Many years ago I (from Germany) was on a quilting trip in the USA in Pennsylvania. The trip was offered by a Swiss tour company and the tour guide had previously lived in the USA for a number of years in the immediate vicinity of an Amish family. On our quilt trip, his small tour group (9 people) was allowed to visit this Amish family at home. All of her quilts were laid out on the front lawn for us to admire and photograph. We were also shown around the house and the house of the newly married daughter. I was very impressed by the simplicity and the warmth of these people. Since then I have been intensively involved with this faith. Their lifestyles are simple and more God-centered than we ever can because they are not as distracted by the multitude of technological (and supposedly life-enhancing) gadgets.

Very beautiful home for the Newly Weds! Didn’t you say a lot of the canned items were wedding gifts? Forgive me if I misunderstood. I thank the Amish for holding true to Gods Law. May this family forever remain blessed as well as you the one giving the blessing of sharing your time and experience of the Amish culture with us. Praise God for this moment in time!

I loved seeing the little tree air freshener in the carriage! It was a small reminder that we are really not that different. ❤

What great practical idea installing the dashboard draws . Was a minimalist home , loved the wrought iron works too especially the shoe as the curtain holder Brilliant.

Peter Santenello on KZread has a wonderful insight into the Amish on his channel and he explains the different types of buggies. His series blows the lid on how the media portrays the Amish as to what they are really like. Fascinating stories and his presentation style is amazing.

It’s nice to see other Amish communities. My neighbors can not have buttons, zippers, colored dresses other than brown,dark green, navy gray,radios,doors or windows in the buggies .No electricity pictures on the walls, upholstered furniture

All curtains are black,dark green or navy also. No printed fabric blankets or pillows

The old order Amish in my town ride in buggies that are open in the front with lanterns on the back. I distinctly remember it was below zero one night on a dark road we came up on a man riding alone...and I see the women riding with brothers or husband with their usual attire and I think to myself.. I'd be knitting up a ski mask for myself😂 I admire their perseverance and devotion to the Lord. That is so awesome to see the inside of the buggy!! What area? I'm in upstate NY. Imagine if we lived in the same county!🤗🤗🤗

❤❤❤ This brought back some really great memories for me of my Amish friends in Chouteau Ok… back in my early 20’s I worked at a Mennonite owned restaurant “Dutch Pantry”, and a lot of the workers were unmarried young Amish girls, I absolutely adored them… We were blessed once with being invited over on a Sunday for a tour of one of the farms and Sunday supper, I had an amazing time, such a beautifully simple life and a wonderful group of people. This video reminded me so much of their home. Thank you for showing us, and thank you to your Amish friends for allowing us to view their lovely home!

Nice video, I was surprised to see a refrigerator and gas stove in the home though, the Amish around me don't have those things. The Amish way is a much more stress-free way of life, and it shows on them, they don't seem to age quite as quickly as on the rest of us.

I love the ways. This being said. I for the first time tried canning pot roast with garic and onions. Making sure I wouldn't harm anyone. I let it sit on the shelf for two weeks. Now. My family is invited to an Amish wedding. Im.bringing am old fashioned picnic basket with a table cloth plastic dishes, silverware and snacks and a candle. And she loves flowes so i added some of my saved seed packs. Also a jar of canned cowboy candy as she loves spicy food. ❤

Wow! I love in Upstate NY and we have a ton of Amish here. I have NEVER seen a buggy like that! The buggies here are just like they're out of the 1800-1900's! I'm surprised to see all the color too, because everyone's clothes here are black or dark blue. The men wear white shirts under their vests on Sundays. Their houses are white rectangles with a porch. They're all the same. They're still pretty primitive up here. Crazy to see the difference!

Love, love all your videos, especially on canning. Here Kentucky the Amish is very much different. No running water in home, they heat only by wood burning cook stove and a wood stove, no a/c. My friend Maude, also has a wood burning stove on her screen in back porch were she does her canning. 12 kids have too, they work around the clock. Such a beautiful family, many in the same area. Huge farms 500 - 1,000 acres farms they have.

Hello, I've been to Amish Country a lot. They usually use a Generator, Solar Panels, or buy dry ice which keeps a long time. There's also windmill's that generates electricity. God's nature works in those.The Amish live off grid. Hope this helps answer your question.

Thanks for the Amish home tour, they have some wonderful traditions and families. But, I always have a feeling of sadness that the Amish are more invested in their religion than in loving and obeying the Word of God and having a personal relationship with Jesus. I know there are many sects of Amish and other Anabaptists.
