That is wonderful. As I said to Gavin, we must not take these finds for granted, no matter how many we find. They are tiny bits of history and they are important! Thanks for comments on conversation at end. I like that format too, and made video edit easier, so it went up faster!

Your mystery lead items are without doubt rifle bullets. The grooves left behind by the rifling. Looks like both are from the same large caliber rifle, 30-06 maybe. Great to see you out with the simplex, thanks for the video!

Thank you so much! I have never found one of these before, only older minie ball type, musket balls, or blobs of flattened lead. I think they are 303s as I’m in Scotland, and I find lots of the casings for those. I’ll need to take the lead bits and try them in one of those casings I have, see if they fit. It is a huge lump of lead, for sure, you wouldn’t want to be hit with one of those! Thank you for the id, I really never considered bullets, 🙄 doh!

Mystery heavy items are lead bullets, and give a great signal! More modern bullets are copper coated lead. They wind up being deformed from their original shape upon impact with soil, rocks or targets.

they look like large caliber bullets. The stripes are rifling grooves.

Thank you so much brich, I have never found any modern bullets before. I have found casings for 303s, many times, but not the pointy end, except in intact bullets. When I think bullets, I think musket balls, Pistol balls, or 19th c ringer type bullets. Now I’ll know what the 303 look like and will def recognise the rifling next time. Thank you again, every day is a school day!

Thanks for your video, you should use a polarization filter to remove reflections , just turn the filter until reflections disappear

I've had the nokta simplex plus for a week now and with all the no trespassing signs and having to ask people to metal detect on their land which I won't do because I stay to myself I have it posted on Facebook marketplace for $200. I used it twice for maybe 4-5 hours total

Love the videos and as i am just waiting for my Simplex to arrive,so pleased you cover lots of Simplex settings and how to get the best from your machine.No doubt i will be viewing these again to help my learning curve. Not so keen on playing background music to the video,distracts a bit when i am concentrating on what your explaining.Thats only my opinion please dont take offence. HH on your next outing.

Love the videos just got a simplex with 2.8 version but you say use 2.7 ? also another person said no need to ground balance? Any advise would be much appreciated. Thanks. Steve

I find your videos very informative and enjoyable, I bought a simplex and haven't been out much yet but plans g to get out this month when it's cooler and hopefully we have some rain. Question my simplex is a 2.68 do you recommend down loading it to the 2.77

No mate, not yet. 2.77v is for the more experienced user. Best spend a good season to really equate with 2.68 ( which is excellent in its own right), rather that get the 'perceived obsolescence sydrome' and go for the 2.77 UP-LOAD, simply because it is there. Many newer Simplex owners made this mistake, and freaked out because 2.77 is a really 'HOT' version . IF you ignore my opinion then 'cool', but here is a massive 'BEWARE'. If you UP-load from ANY of the 2.6 versions to a 2.7 version, you must NEVER ATTEMPT to go back to the original 2.6 version. If you try to go FROM either, 2.76/2.77/2.78 BACK to a 2.66/2.67/2.68 version you will PERMANENTLY fry your Simplex's mother-board, and PERMANENTLY wreck your search coil, as well as UTTERLY VOIDING your machines warranty. I hope I've been of help.

I’d agree with Tim, unless you are an early Upgrader to the sp24 coil. It won’t work with 2.68. I swear by that coil, but it is an investment# when you’ve only just bought the machine. 2.77 does have advantages, including the mute button and the extra park setting, but it is sparky, and you would have to know that in most situations with the stock coil you would have to turn the sensitivity down. Most new user find that a difficult concept, but once you know the machine and how to tune the Hot Rod the Right way for the right situation, you understand that if it is too sparky it won’t find anything. Save the sparky for when you need it, and use the machine on the right setting formte locale. But this only comes with practice. And 2.68 is great to learn with!

How deep can the Simplex go!? Só in average and what is it maximum depth?

And how should I swing the detector in beach and all-metall mode!? Faster or rather slowly!?

Hello!What might a high number like.65-75 mean with a deep sign like all the 5 stripes and with a deep sound at the same time!? Could it be still a coin!? Because a high number with a high tone usually means good, isn't it so!? Greetings from Hungary

Nonsense, i've been detecting for over 40 years, it's a great machine, i don't know why the Guru is ground balancing on soil that doesn't need it, that's what's causing all the chatter but the same can be said for most machines.
