    I love the way they look. I am living in a large Class A now but it's getting really obvious that the windshield is going to need to be covered from the outside. We're over 100 every day this week here in SW NM and I'm struggling to get the temp inside below 85. I think it would be worth it just to cover that giant windshield and have it wrap around to cover the huge passenger side window and the drivers door window too. Thanks for another great instructional video, Ray.

    You have to exit the province but moving around and getting new reservations could be a chore. Right now BC is restricting travel between three large health authority zones inside the province to essential travel only and also people coming into BC. Some private RV parks restrict it even more. BC provincial parks are giving priority to BC residence for reservations. So travel is tough right now.

    They ae pretty well equal. Here is some temp gun tests I did in a previous video - kzread.info/dash/bejne/pHaTz7iliqioiag.html With the foil in the window itself still heats up quite a bit and blocks out light. Its actually not good for the rubber seals on dual pane as it will shorten the lifespan. They will crack and dry out quicker. The outside shade seems to keep the window and metal frame cooler. I'm curious why it's colored black? I'd think black sorta absorbs sun getting hotter than if it were white? Is a white version available? Even if the color didn't make a difference in reducing the interior heat a white option would be great too. I was also wondering if the higher winds rip them off ever and/or cause them to smack against the RV causing unpleasant noise? That material looks very similar to the heavy duty porch screen I got at Home Depot for pet protection. I think it's fiberglass reinforced or some strong plastic. Thanks again Ray 🌟☘

  • @LoveYourRV

    @LoveYourRV

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes, there is a white version but I figure that it would show the dirt and maybe yellow over time. "Both colors block up to 90% of sun's heat and damaging U.V. light. BLACK: Is the most popular color since it provides the best visibility when looking through to the outside." Since the shade is outside the window the heat doesn't matter, it dissipates quickly. The only noise issues I've had is if I have the back window one partially off the snaps to get a view some will hit the sidewalls with wind gusts and chatter but if the snaps are all done up no noise as the material is very lightweight. The snaps are more than enough to hold it in place. IN windier areas a person could add more per inch. I used the skirting material all winter long with the same snaps and out of hundreds only ha a few come loose. We routinely had 90 KPH (55MPH) winds during some storms. Cheers, Ray

    I think for some reason to the human eye and reflection off of glass that black is better than white. You see the same thing in a lot of NHL and MLB stadiums that require netting. They all typically use black color. Less noticeable.

  • @Hundert1

    @Hundert1

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@webcompanion The less noticeable factor of black is exactly why I choose lighter colored RV and vehicles. Same reason you don't ever see black school buses, black firetrucks and black ambulances or road workers and highway crews who always wear bright highly visible attire. On my light colored RV I think the black would really stand out more than white would, at least from the outside just as the dark tinted glass windows already do. From the inside it might be another story. Thanks

    @@LoveYourRV I would probably just put it between vents. The back of my fridge "cabinet" is only insulated by whatever is in the factory installed wall, while the sides had extra fiberglass bats. To one side is range/cooktop and the other is an exterior wall as my fridge is in a slide out. Nothing below fridge. I also upgraded to a 12 volt compressor system from absorption style, my Cameo LXI is almost 20 years old, so the vents are less of an issue but I still would not want to cover them .
