Replace The Ugly RV Door Window With AP Products Thin Shade Upgrade - How To Install Tricks And Tips

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I get rid of that ugly obscured frosted glass window on your RV or trailer door with AP Products Slim Shade Model# 015-201512 (also known as a Thin Shade). It replaces the existing RV door window with black glass and includes a shade. The only tool needed is a Philips head screwdriver. The kit comes complete with everything needed and even comes pre-caulked.
You can read more about the install of the AP Products Thin Shade on my blog at: www.rvhabit.com/post/replace-...

I'm quite petite (I wear child size gloves.) Your outstanding video gave me the confidence to try this on my own, and it was super easy. Thank you!! The old exterior frame initially wouldn't release from the RV, so I removed the glass first, which was easy. I then was able to give a good tug on the frame, which peeled off without a problem. Two things that may help some people: If you have a screen door, you won't be able to stand on the step to reach the top of the window, so you'll need a step ladder. Also, the shade is really not useful if you have a screen door, especially if you are vertically challenged. To use it, you have to go outside, close the screen, then pull down the shade. (You may need a step stool in order to reach the shade.) Then, you'll have to open the screen door and go back inside. Fortunately, I have curtains over my door, so I don't need the shade. I might skip the shade if I ever install another one of these. Thank you again for this great video.

We just did this upgrade today. Thank you for your informative video. Wifey and I did this in about 40 minutes. Even with my leukemia and heavy-duty chemo flowing through me, it was a pretty straightforward swap-out. The door AND the trailer, in general, look SO much better. Just make sure you guys doing this project use the taping tips to prevent an 'incident'. Ha. We won't do the bedroom window because we still like the privacy it provides.

We hated that window on our Class C! We hate the one on Maggie too. It is larger and dark tint which is great during the day, but at night there is only a full length shade to cover the window above the door and the window in the door. Don't get me started about the window above the door...doesn't make any sense. Anyway, I wish they would come out the same conversion for the style we have. We love the built in shade...very nice. Great install video Lou! Came out Awesome! 😀👍

Wow - GREAT job! Nice editing and production - the tips and tricks really help! I had no idea these kits existed - now of course I NEED to get (two), I'm in a Toyhauler; these seem like an obvious upgrade once you know about them. I like the idea of installing it upside down to partially use the screen (maybe without having to open the screen door). I'm in Canada so I use Amazon.ca but I will see if I can do the sale through your affiliate link. PS - Sixteen screws? - that's just asking for a cordless tool be used - but I HEARD your warning about using a hand tool to not damage it... In applications like that I instead use a cordless DRILL not the impact driver. Then I adjust the torque setting on the drill to minimum and adjust up to the right setting... (GENTLE powertool) PPS Did the instructions suggest to install one screw after the other in rotation? I thought it might be wise to install like a wheel - opposite corners and alternating to spread out the torque. But clearly one after the other - worked! Just thoughts... NICE JOB! (I subbed and liked)
