Simple STEAMED MUSSELS | Bart van Olphen

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

To celebrate the opening of the Dutch mussels season and the launch of our own Zeker Zeeuws mussels, I am making my take on super simple steamed mussels! These mussels are from the Oosterschelde and are 100% from Zeeland and grown in those waters. Cooked with just a few simple ingredients, you really can taste the sea. Enjoy!

Bart is always the best. I've been having white meat on Fridays for more than 30 years and there's nothing more true than fishie fridays. Bart inspires me .

That's probably the simplest way I've ever seen someone suggest serving mussels. Will have to try this. :)

I love mussels!!! Luckily, I live not far from Belgium and if I cannot cook them myself properly, I can always drive to Belgium and eat them there. :)

Hi Bart & Fish Tales! I bought these same mussels from Albert H & when I opened the package I made sure to discard the closed ones. However when I steamed them, there were quiet a bunch that didn't open :-/ and I made sure to leave it on the hob for long enough .... Am I doing smething wrong? Do u have any idea why sme didn't open? Still very tasty tho ... Go Zeeland Mussels 👍🏻👅

Hi Bart, I saw the little name plate for the fish tales mussels at the AH today, but they were already sold out, so good work I guess! As they are a bit more expensive, any other reason then your amazing channel that I should prefer these over the regular house brand mussels?

Fish Tales mussels are 100% guaranteed from the Oosterschelde in Zeeland. That means they grow there from musselseed to consumption mussels, in stead of being imported from for example Germany, Denmark or the UK. If you compare our mussels to house brand mussels you will also notice that ours contain a lot of big mussels with a lot of mussel meat.

Doesn't vacuum packing take the air out of the package? How do the mussels stay alive? Just curious.
