I bought a 2018 RS3 Sportback in march - so glad I did. Great video guys! I went for a different intercooler, because with the Revo you kind of lose the area where the crashbar is located. Some intercoolers (like the Wagner Evo X) are even bigger and replace the entire crashbar, meaning you get more than double the surface area of the OEM intercooler. It also allows you to mount your ACC sensor. Only downside is $$$

That's awesome. The inline-5 has such a great sound. It's almost like a two tone drone but the tones compliment each other. I want to do the same with a 2.5L AWD Mazda3. 500HP won't be just a tune like the Audi. It's going to need a additional injectors and a bigger turbo. But still, it's a car that most won't expect.

When I had a 5C beetle turbo I knew a bunch of the guys doing development on the platform. Within 2 years people had doubled the HP with nothing more than a bigger intercooler, 3in downpipe, and stage 2 tune. There were multiple guys swapping in K04 turbos running methanol and getting 600+hp. VAG is awesome when you learn not to take the cars back to the dealership. Kempthorn Motors in Canton, Ohio told me there was nothing wrong with my beetle that wouldn't go into second gear regularly for over 16k miles. When they finally replicated the issue and swapped the trans, they gave me the car with the hose clamps to the radiator improperly reinstalled resulting in the hoses to blow off 50 miles down the road then when it went back in for service they gave me the car back with no oil in the engine resulting in the engine blowing 20 miles down the road resulting in me having to pay 10k to replace the engine on a car that had less than 50k miles on it. Never take your VW to a dealer for service and never do work with Kempthorn Motors in Canton, Ohio.

When even experts can't see the difference, except for blurrier fonts in the original product, you know you're not buying "quality" anymore but rather the brand .... The old mark 2 Ford focus RS and XR5/ST had these 5 pot similar motors.. Yes FWD but on a roll with stage 3 bolt ons and tune they were a lot of fun and surprised many others at the track and on the road. The 5 pot motor sounds great IMO and for that reason alone i would take the Audi over the Merc AMG A45

The Focus 5-pots are Volvos. Great engines and gearboxes, but broadly speaking, you'll get better value out of an actual Volvo. S40 and C30 T5s instead of the XR5, and S40 T5 AWD (plus some mods) instead of the RS. However, if you've got the cash, the Audi 5 pot has more potential without opening the engine.

Love and agree with everything in this video - the sleeper hot hatch is one of my favorite cars to want to own. My STi hatch has been a blast. (Wish we got the RS3 hatch here in the States - though the sedan version is ok if you’re willing to give up das boot.) The one thing though about a sub 4 second sleeper car for embarrassing super cars at the drag strip (or at traffic lights, if you happen to see a supercar just stopped at one in your town), is manufacturers are already making super fast sleeper cars for “cheap” - they’re called EVs. They have all the excitement of driving a vacuum cleaner through a library, but some of them are stupid fast. I think the fact they make no sound is insult to injury. I’d MUCH prefer that RS3, but as the RS3 is pantsing Lambos, a Tesla Model Y Performance carrying kids to Little League practice is pantsing those with modified hot hatches.

Great video Moog, I was very fortunate to drive an original Audi turbo Coupe from the 80's while working for Volvo Canada and that car had been tweaked so what by Vag Canada and that full mechanical AWD was insane when it took off , just so much traction it was silly and those cars were so analog todays equivalent are a bloody picnic to drive, I have driven lots of modded Volvo XC 70's with near 380 WHP and you better be wearing your seatbelt or hanging onto to OH SHIT handles otherwise you feel like your going into the back seat, and to this day i have never been in a car that went from 100-220 kph that fast it was stupid and i was grinning, so i can only imagine how fast the Audi RS3 is to drive, the only car i have stood next to faster is my friends 7 second drag car, it is just insanity 👍 so I'll be happy just driving my daily old Volvo 240 and keep my driver license ,LOL

The best way to improve an already not underpowered car is to invest heavy in suspensionparts. High-End Coilovers, PU bushings, anti roll bars ect, ect, ect..... I realized that yesterday when I was ragging my 252 bhp Opel (Vauxhall) Corsa E OPC (VXR) through narrow B-Roads. Till yesterday the plan was to forge the engine internals to get to about 300 bhp. But what limits the car at the moment is the suspension. I already have an ST-X set of coilovers. But I will switch a H&R anti rol bars and a KW V3 clubsport with uniballs. I do not agree with the tyre recommendation. I had the PS5 for about 1000 km on my Corsa and they are too soft. The steering felt numb. Then I switched to the Goodyear eagle F1 asymetric 6 and the car improved a lot in the feel in the steering. I trhin the PS5 are not as good as everyone says. Better go with the goodyears or PS4S!
