This was, is and will always be the best gig on this planet, yes the best in the whole universe. Sad as it is there will never ever come anything close to this absolute masterpiece of live music. This is the undeniable peak of live music history ever.
To the lady or gentleman that has produced this, I thank you. I lack the vocabulary to convey how marvellous this is. Takes me back to a time where the Minds were front and centre in my teenage years. What a band they were!
I was there, It was hot as hell, completely sunburned too! simply unforgetable!
I heared this concert for more than a thousand times. First on TDK SA60 cassette on my Sony Walkman and after on my Philips Discman . It was broadcasted on Dutch Radio and I dubbed it from a friend. He had to change the casette after 30 minutes so I missed a part of " promised " . The quality of the casette went down and down, but I still have it. This concert formed me to the person I now am. Great to hear this on excellent quality. Godspeed ART and thanks a million

For those who maybe recognize my name I was the guy behind the Belgian Simple Minds fan site "When Spirits Rise" a long long time ago!
Ik had de concerten van Simple Minds en U2 van Werchter 1983 gemist waardoor ik vast besloten was om in 1984 dit niet te missen. Een zeer memorabel concert en zoals Herman Schuuremans het in een interview aangaf "het was een orkaan die over de weide trok", wat mij betreft het hoogtepunt uit hun carriere, daarna ging het muzikaal een verkeerde richting op. Dit optreden komt van Rocktempel die het optreden mocht uitzenden van de boys. Geweldig, ken bijna elke het hele optreden uit mijn hoofd (zoals ook andere hier aangeven, van de cassette bandjes destijds. Dank voor het plaatsen.
I absolutely love this band. Especially "Waterfront." Its a song that just sings to me 38 years after its initial release. It brings me back to my junior and senior years of HS. I have heard this song countless hundreds of times. I was 17 years old when I bought (Sparkle in the Rain.) One of my all time favorite songs of my life.

The groove in the "just my imagination" section of Speed Your Love is frighteningly brilliant. Far far and away the best ever version of Glittering Prize. Jim sings the shit out of it.
