Fine LED project ,Thank you .

Hi. I want to light a 3w chip LED (sam as what u showed) and Dim it with 4v output DC adaptor (driver). Can the same circuit be used? I have a dimmer, and the LED is barely dimming when turning the potentiometer.

Can i use any kind of 10k Resistor? or 1/2w 1% ?

Can I make this for a 24V LED? I am trying to make a dimmer for my IKEA "MITTLED" light strip for cabinets. And which components should I use in the circuit? I can't find any DYI 24V LED dimmers anywhere online, so I would greatly appreciate any help! 🙏

normal alligator clip with heat shrink tubing for components sharp edge protection.

I didn't use the middle connection with the MOSFET and it works.. the second wire just goes directly to the LED leg

Why don’t you use potentiometer directly? Or is there another use for the transistor?

The point of the video is to use a PNP transistor for dimming leds 😉

​@@Calamity_JackBecause transistors act as adjustment devices for voltage and current. Resistors will produce heat and even smoke without transistors.

@@lalmuanawmamualchin2430 Thanks for the info. But I'm using several resistors with LEDs now and none of them are heating or smoking. I just made sure to match the resistors to the circuit's voltage and current. When would transistors need to do adjustment?

I have some pretty costly cannon lenses that I also use on sony body with adapters. This are most expensive one's 50mm f1.2L, 18-35mm f1.8 signa, 14mm f2.8mm

Linear dimmer using transistors... Just sucks, is only suitable for low power LEDs, don't try it with high power dimmers or the transistor will burn.
